How Mexican feminists are helping Americans get abortions
The Guardian (UK) ^ | 06-10-2022 | Cecilia Nowell

In late January, nearly 70 abortion rights activists from across Mexico gathered in a city along the US-Mexico border. For three days, they huddled in hotel conference rooms, video chatting with activists in the US, who had been unable to travel due to Covid-19 and an Arctic cold front. Together, they strategized how to support Americans as abortion restrictions proliferated across the US.

“It was three days of very, very, very, very cold outside, but very, very warm inside,” Verónica Cruz Sánchez, director of Las Libres, a feminist organization based in Guanajuato, Mexico, said.

Over the course of the long weekend, members of 30 different abortion rights groups, from across Mexico and the United States, formed what they call the Red Transfronteriza, or Cross-Border Network. Following a model that Mexican and other Latin American feminists had developed over the past two decades, the Red Transfronteriza would “accompany” Americans through their abortions, guiding them through the World Health Organization’s protocol for safely using abortion pills without the supervision of a doctor. They would also supply abortion pills to Americans for nothing, mailing donated medications to the United States.

They sound like medical entrepreneurs to me.

I do not agree with what they are doing but they are merely a business filling a need.

Planning the murder of babies makes them warm inside.

Wonder who they serve?

To many women, abortion IS birth control. It’s fvcked up.

I couldn’t ever see it that way. When I found out I had health problems as a teen and my boyfriend and I at the time decided we wanted to start being intimate, I told him two forms of birth control were always mandatory, and he agreed. Two years later, when I turned 19, I begged my OB for a partial hysterectomy because it would be too dangerous for me to be pregnant - it would literally kill me (I was going into kidney failure and pre-eclampsia runs in the women in my family, not to mention that my necessary meds would kill a fetus). For some reason, she didn’t agree, and only after finding another OB whose opinion she’d accept would she perform a tubal ligation. The second OB agreed with me, but she did the tubal because it was, “reversible” in case I decided I wanted kids. I told her it wasn’t a matter of wanting, but again, she refused a more permanent hysterectomy.

When I started literally hemorrhaging 2 liters of blood per day each cycle, which at its longest lasted 14 months, and my always-irregular cycle was only being treated with hormones and blood transfusions (bad for a transplant patient), I saw a new OB who said she would have given me that partial hysterectomy at seventeen like requested. My cycle had always been messed up, probably from the meds and illness combined.

TL;DR - I never wanted to make a choice between a child’s life and mine. I can’t imagine women doing this out of, “ convenience”.

Abortion advocates want to kill as many innocent little preborn babies as they can.

How is this news? People have crossed the border for decades to get medications not legal in the USA. Into both Mexico and Canada. They are right medication induced abortion is clinically identical to a natural miscarriage there is no way for a OBGYN to clinically tell the difference. The pills are not taken orally they are used directly. These same pills are also the ones used when a woman has a natural miscarriage and the pregnancy products do not shed completely this avoiding a D & C . Since neither drug is a narcotic or controlled class of drug the mail doesn’t care if you mail it and there is no way even with X rays to know what the pills are customs rarely opens medication parcels.
