Gazprom to pump around 42 mcm of gas via Ukraine on Fri, unchanged from previous day

MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Gas Transport System Operator (GTSOU) has accepted a request from Gazprom for Friday to transport 41.9 million cubic meters of gas through the country, with volume unchanged from Thursday, data from GTSOU indicate. Capacity was requested only through one of two entry points into Ukraine's Gas Transport System, the Sudzha metering station. A request was not accepted through the Sokhranivka metering station.

"Gazprom is supplying Russian gas for transit through the territory of Ukraine at the volume confirmed by the Ukraine side via the Sudzha metering station at 41.9 million cubic meters on June 10, with no booking via the Sokhranivka metering station " Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov told reporters.

GTSOU has declared a force majeure in regard to accepting gas for transit through Sokhranivka, citing the fact that it cannot control the Novopskov compressor station.

Gazprom believes there are no grounds for a force majeure or obstacles to continuing to operations as usual. Ukrainian specialists worked smoothly at the Sokhranivka and Novopskov stations all this time and continue to do so; transit through Sokhranivka was ensured in full, and there were and are no complaints from counterparties, the Russian gas giant has said.

Ukraine has suggested shifting transit volumes from Sohranivka to Sudzha, but Gazprom asserts that this is technologically impossible based on the Russian flow scheme. Also, the distribution of volumes is prescribed in the agreement on cooperation from December 30, 2019.

At the same time, the Ukrainian side insists that the payment should still be made on the basis of the estimated volume of transportation of the long-term contract stipulating 109 million cubic meters per day under the "pump or pay" rule. Gazprom, in turn, points out that Ukraine has reduced transit capacity by a third. Naftogaz Ukraine said it is now being underpaid for transit and is talking about appealing for arbitration.

EUROPEAN MARKET

The European gas market is continuing to follow the strategy of price optimization of supplies. Most contracts with Gazprom are on a "month ahead" index (its value for June could be about $970/1,000 cubic meters). Prices on the spot market are at a level of $900 (even taking into account some growth after an accident at a U.S. LNG plant), so buyers are looking for cheaper alternatives here.

Renewable electricity production in Europe is showing a downward trend this week. Whereas on Monday wind power generation accounted for 14% of the energy mix across the EU, on Wednesday and Thursday it was already 11%, according to the WindEurope association (in the week from May 30 to June 5 it averaged 9%).

So the war is over? Yeah! Who won? Ukraine can do business with Russia but McDonald’s can’t?

The gas is to be sent through Ukraine to the EU. Although it is at war with Russia, Ukraine knows that if they were to close down the pipeline they would lose the support the the Europeans, so it is forced to allow the Russian gas to pass.

Is it really a war if the combatants are still cooperating on energy and commerce or just another Holodomor genocide being committed by the Russians and the Europeans?

Lol. The Ukraine is passing gas to the EU. I’d like to do that too.

There certainly has been a lot of gas passing centered on the Ukraine lately.

Those gas fields are in Russian occupied land, and under
the sea that land provides access too.

This is why Russia took that land. The Ukraine was a
potential competitor for that market.

Do you think Russia is going to compensate for gas fields
they now own?

Nice opinion, any sources? Fact is Russia is in need of nothing, NG, oil, diesel, food, grain, commodities, metal….they have everything the West needs.
…and Vlad says Checkmate, again….not to hard to do when up against vegetable head Joe, it seems Biden’s war and the war cheerleaders are getting quiet as reality sets in.

Take a look at Russia’s occupied territory map.

Then take a look at the AZOV Natural Gas preserve.

Russia took all the land the AZOV gas preserves were under.
It also took all the land that had access to the under water
portion of the AZOV Natural Gas preserve.

Russia’s push west stopped at the most Western end of the
AZOV Natural Gas preserves.

Is your argument that was just a coinkydinky?

No, but that is off-topic

The topic is the pipeline network, the contracts between the parties that send the gas, and those that pump it through to feeders that go to 2d and 3d countries.

By contract Kiev receives a share of the pipeline transmission process through their country, and continues to do so. Both parties are being pragmatic here to keep their revenue going

Vlad and Russia love the Black Sea oil and gas. It is so close to European markets. It is much easier to drill for and exploit, when you consider that just about all Russian oil and gas is extracted from super cold regions. Far north of Moscow and Siberia.

I did hear the Western Central Banks were unhappy w/Russia’s parallel monetary system.

It certainly does look as though refusing to play is the way to win this game.

Exactly, ever realize that vegetable head Joes slogan is the same as the Claus Swab Great Reset WEF’s NWO’s - Build Back Better-? The World Economic Forum ( WEF) has a scary amount of leaders in all western governments. They failed in shutting down the world’s economy with the Covid hoax, I can’t help wonder if Senile Joe’s Ukie war was designed to destroy the world’s economy ( it currently looks that way).

No conspiracy here- just facts.

“ Unfortunately, Trudeau is listening to Schwab. Canada, Australia, and New Zealand as well as Europe are following the academic directive of Schwab to this fictional world that can never exist because it is demanding that human nature MUST be suppressed, altered, and in truth – eradicated. Schwab is NOT in actual control. But the people running these political bodies are kissing his ring as if he is the godfather of economics.”

I don’t think Russia is going to act as if that gas is
Ukrainian derived. Russia just took possession of it.

How is that off topic?
