There may be no better example of the disintegration of the Connecticut Republican Party than the reaction party-endorsed candidates for governor and U.S. Senate got this month to their very bland, happy Gay Pride Month tweets.
You would think, from some of the blistering criticism they heard in response tweets, from the hardcore within their own party, that they had suggested sex with donkeys.
If moderate Republicans aren't allowed by party regulars to acknowledge Gay Pride Month in Connecticut in 2022, how can they ever find common ground with Connecticut's moderate voters on thornier issues like gun control and abortion?
It's been a long time now since any Republican has been able to win statewide office in Connecticut.
The odds for that ever happening are getting a lot longer, as the Trumpists and their followers become more entrenched in the party both nationally and in Connecticut.

I've met gubernatorial candidate Bob Stefanowski, and he seems to me to be a socially moderate, reasonable, small-government advocate who, in the past, might have been able to cobble together enough votes from his own party, conservative Democrats and independents to win.
I think in this polarized environment, when independents realize that a conservative U.S. Supreme Court is pushing crucial social/cultural issues to states to decide, that there's no wiggle room in who you elect.
I am not going to give my vote to someone like Stefanowski, who may seem like an acceptable candidate in his own right, but who is going to have to cater to the crazies in his party that want to arm young people with military weaponry and deny women the right to abortion.
The stakes are now too high, and that tightrope that moderates have always had to walk here is now way too treacherous.

See! According to this Democrat author, moderate Republicans are the greatest thing ever! And the Republican party should ONLY nominate moderates.
But he'll still vote for the Democrat in November even if the Republicans nominate a really awesome moderate!
This is why we don't listen to Democrats on who we should nominate.
Aren’t RINOS an endangered species?
Not one of the topics mentioned is moderate. Every one of them is so radical that 50 years ago he would be jailed for some and shunned for the rest.
Bush League Republicans ARE Assistant Democrats, that’s why Democrats love them.
“Moderate Republicans” accept every crazy Democratic policy as “normal”.
We get it.
Like so many of his kind, the author's hypocrisy is odious. He is perfectly fine to arm 18 year olds in the military to fight and die for him and his globalist masters. He objects to women being denied the right to abortion but like so many pro-abortion hypocrites, not one whimper for the child in the womb's right to life.
Stupid people vote Democrat. Stoopider people vote for RINOS.
“If moderate Republicans aren’t allowed by party regulars to acknowledge Gay Pride Month in Connecticut in 2022,”
So in the states with the most gays there are only about 5 per 100,000 that are gay. And the state with the highest percentage of transgenders runs about 0.6%. And the whole country is turning up side down to placate them and let them pervert our young children. What the hell is wrong with this country?
Excellent post!
And what about the crazies in the dem party who want to kill the old folk, confiscate all legal guns owned by non-violent citizens, force the taxpayers to pay for abortion, euthanasia and sex-”change” operations.
Lots of stupid people keep re-electing Grahamnesty, Cornyn, Tillis, Hoeven, Rubio, etc.
With Republicans like this who needs Democrats?
Just before I fled Ct for paradise in SC, “moderate” Republicans stabbed gun owners in the back and collaborated with Democrats imposing draconian gun regulations. Self defense is basically illegal in Ct. I just so happened to know the Republican senate minority leader and complained about the laws. He said you can still have guns, just follow the laws. I said, oh yeah? Who is ever going to vote for Republicans again. You just lost half your party. Looks like my prediction came true.
Republicans in Ct are like the Washington Generals vs the Globetrotters. They go through the motions and lose gracefully.
Acknowledging Gay pride month/parade/day/etc (Geesh, someone have esteem issues?) is OK if an only if they un-invite and disavow any members/affiliates/etc of any outfit like NAMBLA. This pack of degenerates have attended every such parade since they started out here in CaCaLand. They are the apple’s rotten core on grooming and paedophilia — since they openly endorse it.
Until then, support of any gay pride crappola is like cheering for a KKK parade.

“...find common ground with CT’s moderate voters...?”
I would have laughed and laughed and laughed at this prior to 2020. Nothing the Democrats want is “moderate.” It is all pandering to extremists and minority groups that, at their most numerous, represent only a tiny fraction of the nation’s entire population.
Abortion is “moderate.” Gun control is “moderate.” Convicted felons being able to vote: Moderate. Millions of ineligible write-in ballots and a fraudulent election: Moderate. Our “president” and his family members selling state secrets to China and Russia, among other criminal collectivist enemies. Moderate.
(I find myself wondering: What is a real moderate today? Is there really any such thing? Most politicians - on both sides - who tout themselves as moderates are simply pushovers for the Left.)
The author’s a fag. Stefanowski is a halfway decent Republican for a commie state in that he’s almost Conservative on a couple of issues and leagues better than the spoiled rich brat little twerp who’s governor now.
Its crazy to not want women to kill their babies???
F these rinos!
I'm shocked, just shocked!
