Shanghai and Beijing went back on fresh COVID-19 alert on Thursday after parts of China's largest economic hub imposed new lockdown restriction and the city announced a round of mass testing for millions of residents.
The most populous district in the Chinese capital, meanwhile, announced the shutdown of entertainment venues, while news of the lockdown of Shanghai's Minhang district, home to more than 2 million people, pulled down Chinese stocks.
Several local-level authorities in Shanghai, which is home to 25 million people, have also issued notices saying residents will be subject to two days of confinement and another 12 days of rigorous testing starting Thursday.
Many of the notices were in the central Xuhui district, where green fences and red wooden boards have sprung up in the past week, barricading residents in and triggering fresh public anger.

How do I know that? Do you recall the incident under Bush when one of their planes hit one of our planes? I had ZoneAlarm then which pinged every time someone or something tried to access my computer through a closed port.
I made some inflammatory comment about retaliating, pure tongue in cheek, and instead of a ping every hour or so coming from some university computer lab I started getting 10+ pings per minute all coming from mainland China and Hong Kong.

We showed up for an Asian guy who was having difficulty breathing. He was having difficulty communicating with us. He kept motioning for me to come closer to his face because he didn't want everyone to know what his problem was. He coughed out, “T, cough, B” right in my face. No goggles, no gloves, no face mask, nothing even though we had been warned about an antibiotic resistant form that was circulating among Asian immigrants just off the boat in our community. I had to fill out an exposure form and face the wrath of our EMS educator. Thankfully my stupidity didn't result in my getting TB.
