Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) called out President Biden, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and other Democrats Wednesday while urging the House to approve legislation boosting protection for Supreme Court justices “before the sun sets today” after an armed man was arrested outside Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s Maryland home.
“This is where we are … an assassination attempt against a sitting justice or something close to it,” McConnell said on the Senate floor.
“This is exactly the kind of event that many worried that the unhinged, reckless, apocalyptic rhetoric from prominent figures toward the court, going back many months, and especially in recent weeks, could make more likely,” he added.
Nicholas John Roske, 26, of Simi Valley, Calif. was arrested shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday near Kavanaugh’s home in suburban Montgomery County, Md. He was charged with attempted murder of a Supreme Court justice after he told a 911 operator he was having “suicidal thoughts,” had a firearm on him, and wanted to kill Kavanaugh.

It seems to me that Schumer should be under Congressional investigation for the ‘whirlwind’ speech. We’ve seen now that it clearly incited terrorism.

I really wonder what Republicans would have done had Kavanaugh been killed. I really think they would have done nothing other than say harsh words, I really believe that. I have lost so much confidence in the Republican party it’s unreal. The fact that they do nothing is why we are in this mess today.
Before the 2020 election lawyers for Democrats were in every battleground state getting election laws overturned using the Covid excuse, bypassing state legislatures and violating the constitution and Republicans did NOTHING. Directly because of THAT is why we have this nightmare going on today.

Supreme Court hasn’t done much for the people. They’ve limped along for decades without principles and lied about who they are.

I’ve had family members who are the polar opposite of me, and some of them have done things that I’m not pleased about.
I think Nancy and Joe as Catholics haven’t been preaching what their faith says they should. They have confused an awful lot of people.
We have a lot of liberal Catholics. But they are "cafeteria" Catholics. The Catholics who vote Republican are Conservative and they follow more of what the church teaches.
