Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) expressed willingness to look at an “assault weapons” ban and noted that he does not see the need for a “high capacity automatic weapon.”
On June 6, 2022, CNN reported Manchin’s support for raising the minimum purchase age to 21 for semiautomatic firearms and that the Senator is open to considering an “assault weapons” ban.
Manchin said, “I never thought I had a need for that type of a high-capacity automatic weapon.”
He added, “I like to shoot, I like to go out and hunt. I like to go out sports shooting. I do all of that. But I’ve never felt I needed something of that magnitude.”

Americans cannot own a fully-automatic weapon unless they have a federal firearm license. Those people aren’t shooting up the country.
I personally don’t have the need to drink alcoholic beverages. They, unlike AR-15, cause a lot of damages. Does that mean I should vote to ban alcoholic beverages?

I am not a fan of the black plastic rifle, but you’d have to be blind not to see the need, these days. A hunting rifle probably would have gotten Kyle Rittenhouse killed.

They do not deserve the presumption of good faith. The gun grabbing cabal abandoned reason decades ago, and are simply seeking power. They should be treated as such.
Manchin saved the country from a total catastrophe by not caving on the filibuster. That said he is still a Democrat. We are probably going to get an “AR”
ban with low capacity clips mandated and national red flag law. It sucks but it looks that way.

I don’t see a need for legalized marijuana for recreational purposes. I don’t see a need for grownups playing basketball. I think the dumbest thing a person can do is climb up Mt. Everest. Taking “selfies” on the edge of a cliff is pretty stupid too. But hey, whatever blows your skirt up!
