Enrique Tarrio, the former chairman of the Proud Boys, and four other members of the far-right group were indicted on Monday for seditious conspiracy in connection with the storming of the Capitol last January, the most serious crime to be charged in the Justice Department’s sprawling investigation of the assault.
The sedition charges against Mr. Tarrio and his co-defendants — Joseph Biggs, Ethan Nordean, Zachary Rehl and Dominic Pezzola — came in an amended indictment that was unsealed in Federal District Court in Washington. The men had already been charged in an earlier indictment filed in March with conspiring to obstruct the certification of the 2020 presidential election, which took place during a joint session of Congress on Jan. 6, 2021.
It was not immediately clear what evidence led to the new charges against the members of the Proud Boys, who were central in the effort to storm the Capitol and help forestall President Donald J. Trump’s defeat.

Turns out, and I didn’t realize this until today, that 4 people were killed that day at the hands of the Capitol police:
“Sedition is hard to prove.”
Really? Did you just wake up from a decades-long nap, Rip Van Winkle?
A DC Jury would convict you or me of assassinating Lincoln.
Between the out of control inflation, along with purposeful food and fuel shortages, methinks the swamp is preparing for a full out assault on America this fall.

“Another white hispanic?”
Cuban, IIRC.
I believe a 2nd lady was clubbed to death by a cop. But since she was on medication, the authorities (and their media lackeys) claimed that she died of an overdose (and ignore the clubbing). They couldn’t quite stretch a similar claim regarding Ashley Babbitt, so they just basically ignore it. Or claim that Ashley was presenting a dangerous threat.
“I firmly believe they intend to jail him before election”.
SWAT team invades Marlargo with news cameras rolling. Brings him out in chains. Leftist judge denies bail due to flight risk. Locked up in a hard core federal prison awaiting a trial that is continuously delayed. Daily leaks to the press from the DOJ. It will be a major spectacle that drags on through the 2024 election.
>>We are not taking back the government.
This play is to make sure of that.<<
Yep
We need Red States to refuse extraditions to these corrupt courts.
In the pre-Civil war days, at least Abolitionist States regularly refused to return escaped slaves to Southern jurisdictions.
Conservatives are this generation’s escaped slave. Blue States are pointing a crooked finger in our direction, snarling “Give him back” to our own governments.
Nobody in red states will have that kind of nerve. They know the FBI would just arrest them also and drag them up to a DC judge for a room in the DC gulag.
Agree. But this is DC we are talking about.
If it's the kangaroo court, SCOTUS will have to step in, or everyone will face consequences. SCOTUS will rather keep the peace so they will strike down the lower court as usual.
They turned over video footage to abc news.
WHY WOULD THEY FREAKIN DO THAT?!
No. They can ask for a change of venue.
No. They can ask for a change of venue.
You can petition the judge for a change of venue.
There is a federal rule of criminal procedure that allows for it on the basis of the “fair trial” portion of the 5th amendment.
The same rule used to change venue in the Timothy McVeigh trial.
I have to wonder why none of the Jan. 5 defendants haven’t availed themselves of a change of venue. Protesting Biden’s election in a District that voted for him by 92% seems like the likelihood of an unbiased jury is close to nonexistent.
They have. One was denied and others are pending
Who is Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes? Gavin McInnes rose to fame as co-founder of VICE Media alongside fellow Canadian Shane Smith in the 1990s. He’s since turned to podcasting to promote his conservative ideology and has appeared on the hugely popular Joe Rogan podcast.Says he quit after the Manhattan brawl, for some reason. No word in the article from the organization if he really quit or if he perhaps was booted, for say, poor judgement on posting YouTube videos. He’s drawn criticism for a number of his statements, including a condemnation by Canada’s Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs for a YouTube video he uploaded in 2017 called “10 Things I Hate About Jews,” in which he said Israelis were “obsessed with the Holocaust.” ...
