The Uvalde school board did not punish the district police chief who refused to send cops into Robb Elementary School while a gunman was shooting kids dead

He’s only a school district PD chief. Not the city PD Chief.
Unfortunately, Abbott is no DeSantis :-(
PLUS isn't he on the City Council??? PATHETIC!!
I repeat....COLOR TRUMPS DEAD KIDS!
Question: The gunman wasn't one of the dem's "Dreamers" was he?
Me too but I checked and he is school police not a regular city coo. He answers only to the school board...and we know how scummy they are
“As SCHOOL DISTRICT police chief, he reports to the school district.”
Maybe more importantly, why was the chief of this 6-man police force in charge of dealing with the murderous event? He, or far more likely the officer assigned to the school might well know the layout better than other cops, but then so did the school’s janitor. Actually the janitor might well have made better tactical decisions.
The people of Uvalde will likely see to it that the school board and the ‘chief’ will be looking for other jobs sooner or later.
I can hardly wait to have this FReepsplained to me.
Nope the chief was tucked away in a bullet proof incident command bus.
Sadly, there were no men there until the one arrived who put a stop to that coward.
The problem with America is that real men are becoming scarce.
Real men would have thought for a second, “hey, there’s kids getting killed in there,” and not hesitated to go in, risking their lives, and kill that bastard.
But, those males were more worried about themselves.
Before you ask or imply anything, I’ve been Active Duty for 20 years deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan for times for a total of four and one- half years. Combat Arms and constantly outside the wire.
There comes a time to do man things and you either step up and do them, or you cower.
Thank you for your service to our country.
Surprise! Even the school board hates their children.
Uvalde Schools have a total of 4100 students. How and why was an independent police force established for such a small enrollment? Far better to pay for police/sheriff deputies to serve as ‘resource officers’ who revert to being regular real world cops when school is out.
There are even smaller school districts, in TX, with their own “PD”.
They USED to be patrolled by local Sheriff Depts, and, that always seemed to work, just fine.
I personally think this is just another way for school district’s to ‘require’/justify increased budgets, while maintaining ‘control’.
Just my 2¢
No guts, no glory! Eh?
This was my question as well.
According to the article, the problem appears to have been that he did not know about the 911 calls, which go the the city (or county) police rather than to the school.
Would he have known about those calls if he had had his radio with him? If so, lock him up with snakes and throw away the key.
In either case, the breakdown of communications indicates that this is not a good structure. This situation should have been directed and handled by people with a lot more past and current experience than the 5-person school police force.
I personally think this is just another way for school district’s to ‘require’/justify increased budgets...
I am nowhere near local, but I bet if someone local were interested they could find a lot of make-work jobs in that district.
The ‘tards prefer to go after the NRA and American gun owners. ***holes.
I have never in my life heard of a police chief subordinate to a school board. I would not have fathomed it in such a small town.
