Russia’s nuclear forces are holding drills northeast of Moscow Wednesday, a day after President Biden announced plans to send advanced missiles to Ukraine.

Some 1,000 Russian soldiers are taking part in intense maneuvers using more than 100 vehicles, including Yars intercontinental missile launchers, Russia’s independent news agency Interfax reported, citing the country’s Ministry of Defense.

The drills are taking place in the Ivanovo Oblast, about 160 miles northeast of Moscow.

The drills, which are aimed at preparing the missile systems for combat, required the troops to march more than 60 miles, camouflage the equipment and post guards, according to Russian news site mkivanovo.ru.

The training exercise also involved Typhoon-M armored counter-sabotage vehicles,

The Typhoon-M is equipped with different types of reconnaissance and surveillance equipment including a TKN-4S night vision sight and Kredo-1 ground surveillance radar. The vehicle is also equipped with an electronic warfare suite able to detect or jam hostile radio communications or electronic attacks, according to the report.

Isn't this about the 20th time Russia has said they are doing nuclear exercises or nuclear capable missile tests in the past few months?

Do they think anyone is taking this seriously?

I think its just part of their psyops, and they will keep repeating it. I can’t speak for others, but I don’t take them seriously. They know what awaits them the minute they launch.

Don’t you know those guys are so happy to be running drills and not being sent to the meat grinder that is the Ukraine.

Happy drills, guys. Rattle those sabres.

CCP has issued a Mobilization Order to prepare for war.

Where did you hear about that?

” perfectly capable of locating the GE originating signal.”

This is not true, because the final signal to the drone might just be a repeater with the original piloting being done far, far away.

“The PLA is clearly getting ready for an invasion of Taiwan”

China lacks the amphibious capability to invade a heavily defended and highly motivated Taiwan. They’re planning to build Yuzhao and Yushen amphibious support ships in the future but what’s lacking is any kind of landing craft capability sufficient to land infantry and armor on the beaches of Formosa. Their current collection of landing craft are 1950’s vintage boats copied from WW2 American boats that were captured in Korea. Those boats looked nice in ‘Saving Private Ryan’ but they’re useless against Taiwan.

Nope, if China is mobilizing for a war *right now* then they could only be mobilizing for a land war.

Some credit ? They are national heroes. Compare the Ukrainians to the Afghan military. We spent countless dollars training and equipping them for decades but when the Taliban came, they dropped their weapons and ran. The Ukrainians could have done the same. Their leader was also offered a safe exit. Yet they all chose to stay and fight to the end to defend their homeland from barbarians. Heroes is what they are.

Don’t get me wrong here. Recommissioning this ship would be a logical response to the Ukrainian Neptune and Harpoon missiles. At least this ship could take a beating and make it back to port.

If the big guns are employed then it might be useful for supporting shore actions. The Russians could put some mobile missile systems on her for defense. It would give them a skosh more capability than they’re going to get in theatre given that the Bosporus is now closed to the Russian navy.

Still, it reeks of desperation to call an old ship like that back to service without a massive refit.

Really? March? That takes 3 days. Lol.

Nope. Russia’s original goal at the outset was to depose the Zelensky government by seizing control of Kyiv. That goal became untenable due to the losses of thousands of military vehicles and their crews.

Yeah, but they can easily swat those large medium altitude drones from the sky with S-300 and S-400 missiles inside Russia. And they will do so with wild abandon because there is no NATO aircrew inside them.

To make it extra funny they should declare a no-fly zone.

And when they do, you'll be the first to say it was out of the blue and totally unprovoked. Just like in Ukraine, Russia has been crystal clear what their intentions are. But msm believing idiots can not read what is plainly presented to them.

Russia’s intentions seem to far exceed is capabilities. And I have spent my whole life listening to Soviet and now Russian nuclear bluster. It’s good for frightening children and Europeans.
