10 nations reject China’s ‘security’ pact

During a summit in Fiji on Monday, Chinese negotiators failed to convince 10 Pacific island nations to join them on a mutual security and trade agreement that would’ve allowed China to establish a presence of security officers in their nations.

The Beijing-proposed security and trade pact would bring Pacific islands nations like the Federated States of Micronesia, the Solomon Islands, Kiribati, Samoa, Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, Niue and Timor-Leste into closer alignment with the Chinese government. The pact would include law enforcement and fishing cooperation, providing China with Pacific hosts for security forces and ships that they could potentially use for military assets to be better positioned for a conflict with the U.S.

The Guardian reported that during a virtual summit to discuss the proposal, several of the invited nations wanted to defer action or amend the agreement before moving ahead.

Sounds like they rejected China’s offer of “protection”.

“Nice islands you got there. It’d be a shame if someone were to invade them”

Perhaps these islanders have seen the results of similar agreements with the CCP in Africa. Maybe they don’t want their people being whipped as slaves.

That'll change.A combination of Chinese money and Chinese navy vessels “accidentally” violating their territorial waters will force them to see “reason”.

Trump should pay them a visit. The island nations leaders can send their designated offspring to meetup-drink kava. No violations right? Stick it to the Chicoms and Biden-twofer.

Article states.....” would’ve allowed China to establish a presence of security officers in their nations.”.....

Sounds like they want further control - rather like US Bases etc. throughout European countries.

The Solomon Islands already cut a security deal with China some months back and other Chinese deals on trade and cooperation were signed with Tonga and Samoa during Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s trip to the South Pacific.

Last week a story leaked out from Australia suggesting China wanted to get the whole group of ten nations to sign off on a security deal and the new Australian Foreign Minister flew to Fiji to talk with the Prime Minister there.

Then after China met the leaders of the ten nations in Fiji the story gets put out no big security pact with China involving the group of nations.

I see spin here emanating from Australia to downplay the slowly but steadily increasing Chinese influence in the region.

It’s also designed to make the new Australian government and Joe Biden look good to look as if they are successfully combatting Chicom influence in the South Pacific.

China doesn’t need a pact. The pact is just on the surface, while Yi visits each nation individually to build the empire.

What does the US have to offer to the world anymore? It’s time to start asking these questions.

><

You might double check the Iwo Jima info.

Iwo Jima is an unpopulated Japanese island far north of this area.

These islands USED to be the Trust Territory of The Pacific Islands, awarded by the UN to the USA after WWII.

And the pussies in DC allow the Chinese to court them!?!?!?

We have a lot(more) to offer. If any nation is going to be dominated it’s best if it’s the US. Ask the P.I. , Korea, or even Eastern Europe-Belarus excluded. Granted we should not be in the imperialism business but just look at the blacks. They’ll vote for the rats who have the same thing to offer as the Chicoms. Won’t even acknowledge the idea of freedom-Benjamins.

Patiently waiting to see if South America is willing to give up it’s fish.

Including what exactly do we have left, and for how long, before crooks in government finish liquidating it all.
