Biden Says US Would Intervene Militarily in Taiwan If Necessary

President Joe Biden said Monday that the United States would intervene militarily in Taiwan if necessary, in an apparent shift away from the U.S. policy of “strategic ambiguity” that quickly ratcheted up tensions with China.

The comment — not the first instance of Biden’s blunt rhetoric on the world stage causing confusion and geopolitical uncertainty — suggested a willingness by the president to go further in defending Taiwan than he has in aiding Ukraine. The Ukrainian government has received tens of billions of dollars in arms and intelligence assistance in the war launched by Russia but not the direct intervention of U.S. or North Atlantic Treaty Organization troops.

“You didn’t want to get involved in the Ukraine conflict militarily for obvious reasons,” a reporter said to Biden during the president’s joint news conference in Tokyo with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. “Are you willing to get involved militarily to defend Taiwan if it comes to that?”

“Yes,” Biden responded, adding: “That’s the commitment we made.”

But he said an invasion of the island by China was highly unlikely.

“My expectation is it will not happen,” Biden said. “It will not be attempted.”

Biden Says US Would Intervene Militarily in Taiwan If Necessary

Keyword (key phrase?), 'if necessary'.

IOW, when they time comes, Biden and democrats will not find it necessary, and we can kiss Taiwan goodbye.

“My expectation is it will not happen,” Biden said. “It will not be attempted.”

Crossing your fingers and hoping for the best isn't a very good plan.

Every next day, the White House modifies or clarifies what it said the day before. Taiwan is most likely assuming that means the USA will not intervene at all.

China will not attack Taiwan but the USA. This is a historic window of opportunity for China since the US government is now controlled by criminal traitors. Those same traitors will immediately surrender and then there’s nothing to stop China.

Australia and Canada can consider themselves gone as well. China wants the lebensraum and natural resources and will colonize these countries.

“This retard changes multi-decade US policy every time he opens his mouth.”

Absolutely the stupidest man to ever be president. His ignorance is breathtaking...and dangerous.

The Chinese, like the Russians have been very clear about their foreign policy aims.

They want to be regional powers.

In the case of China that means conquering Taiwan and neutralizing Australia.

Imho their goal with the US is just aid the implosion by bribing politicians and corporate leaders—to let them declare a de facto civil war on the American people.

I wouldn’t count on that, they actually need raw materials from both China and Russia in order build their little technological super toys

Biden is all over the place. First he says the US will, then his handlers tell him to backtrack, now he’s back to what he originally said. He’s like a weathervane.
