The problem was that she wasn’t deciding on the basis of the facts at all...but simply that she didn’t think his committing the crime was worth bothering with in the first place.

That’s definitely jury nullification.

Jury nullification is fine by me. Sometimes it’s just the right thing to do. However, those that participate need to be aware of the possible consequences of their actions. This time nothing will happen. If this kind of thing continues to happen for political purposes, then the blowback may be something that will cause them to regret their verdict.
