Could you be thinking of Michael Vick? A medium talent at QB who trained dogs for dog fighting on the side. Vick is the only person that my very level-headed, patient as a rock wife said she would put a bullet in should the opportunity arise.
He might {probably will} get suspended, but he can't go to jail because the grand jury has already ruled on these cases and declined to bring criminal charges.
If/when he gets suspended, he still gets his money, it's guaranteed and the contract is structured, planning for a front end suspension.

The truth is neither one are sterling models of character. The male pro athletes are rich, feel entitled and learn fast that rules are for everybody else. The women who gravitate to pro athletes are looking to get on easy street one way or another, whether it is through marriage, pregnancy, prostitution or yelling "rape", they have a financial angle in mind.
Sometime, hang out outside the door of an NFL or NBA locker room and you will find plenty of gold-diggers waiting for a player to hook up with and it won't matter who it is, they just want to get their claws in one.
So, really, neither one is innocent here. The men know what's being offered and the women know what they're offering - and it's usually not simple massages.
