Small-scale possession of illicit drugs will be decriminalized in BC starting next year: Ottawa

Adults will be able to possess small amounts of opioids, cocaine, methamphetamine, MDMA

Adults in British Columbia will be allowed to possess small amounts of some illicit drugs starting next year, the federal government announced Tuesday--a move that marks a dramatic shift in Canada's drug policy.

The federal government says Canadians 18 years of age and older will be able to possess up to a cumulative 2.5 grams of opioids, cocaine, methamphetamine and MDMA within British Columbia. The announcement is a response to a request from the province for an exemption from the law criminalizing drug possession.

The first-of-its-kind-exemption will go into effect on Jan. 31, 2023 and last until Jan. 31, 2026, unless it is revoked or replaced before then. The exemption means there will be no arrests, charges or seizures for personal possession at or below the 2.5 gram threshold...

Killer Whales are cruising the coast of British Columbia to try and catch dopers to eat.

Turns out they like smoked food.

Lived in Vancouver...1998-99...my hubs office overlooked shoot up alley. They had very aggressive panhandlers then, too...

Our daughter went to grad school at UBC about 12 years ago and lived in a nice apartment in the very nice Kitslano district. You could not leave ANY change, not even a few pennies, visible in your car as the druggies would smash your window to steal it. Thousands of dollars of damage for a few damn pennies.

Stoned and “dopey’ people (they call it dope for a reason) are easy to control and don’t revolt. Drunk people on the other hand: the pubs in our revolutionary Colonies and even Hitler in his beer hall.. that’s where revolution starts. I’ve noticed a real anti-drinking narrative these days (“dry January” that’s hard on restaurants and wine bars, etc).

I've been told that that's the policy in Portugal. "Take all the drugs you want. We won't do anything until your decaying body becomes a public health hazard."

This is coming, you folks east of Washington State be ready. It’s on its way. Fight hard and never, never, ever give up the fight.

We’ve had basically all street drugs legal for several years. Drug vagrants out the wazzo, city parks are no go zones, shit and piss everywhere, needles galore and you can’t walk 3 block in downtown Seattle without witnessing someone shootup, transit buses are rolling fentanyl dens, they cannot pay cops to work here, cannot meet staffing with $$$ signing bonuses ignored and since cops are prohibited from pursuing thugs unless they have PROBABLE CAUSE, thugs are ignoring police. One thug even called 911 while being pursued and told dispatch to call it off, they were violating 1054! Cops disengaged.

You do not want this, stay vigilant.

As real rights are curtailed or taken away, phony ones are created or expanded. Throwing bones to the increasingly restless masses groaning under the leadership of the ambitious stooges of the globalists and oligarchs.

BC leads the country in a lot of categories ... most of them bad

highest property crime
highest auto theft rates
highest drug use
highest insurance rates
highest house prices

etc. etc.

plus loopy leftist politics everywhere

yes the scenery is beautiful but what nonsense you have to go thru to get to it!!

thats why I left. My GF is a Newfie’ and she couldnt stand it there either.

“highest drug use
highest insurance rates”

doesnt surprise me. Back in the late 90’s you would see one guy at the bus stop bench with a needle sticking out, and that was normal near “Skid Row”. You wont even see that act here in L.A’s skid row and believe me, I pass it almost everyday.

One car insurance co. and one major property insurance co, in the entire province run by the prov. govt. Talk about communist..
