Travis Considine, chief communications officer for the Texas Department of Public Safety, said Tuesday that additional surveillance footage revealed that the teacher did actually close the door.
"We did verify she closed the door. The door did not lock. We know that much and now investigators are looking into why it did not lock," Considine told the Associated Press.

A door into a mass occupancy building should be a fire door - pneumatic closer. If somebody disabled the closer, then there’s your next coverup.

So, how was the shooter able to prop it open? I guess they all think we are just plain stupid.

Someone noted that there are two cops in the short video of Ramos running into the school. He noticed that they’re looking at a rifle. If this was Ramos’ other rifle that he dropped after chasing people around for 12 minutes, the police might have propped the door open looking for him.
So this may be why we’re learning VERY LITTLE about who propped the door open.
Headline is written poorly I’m guessing. Probably would have been more clear if it said “After propping door open the teacher closed it.”
It’s a marker the lawyer is laying down to control the narrative and tell anyone who needs to know that his client is not going to admit to leaving the rear door open for the shooter to waltz right in, even though that’s exactly what his client did.
Why go to the trouble of propping a door open, if when you deliberately close it, it stays unlocked?

After reading a few paragraphs of the story, it is definitely a poorly written headline.
That was me. We have photo-editing software at work to look at imperfections in photos of packaging materials.
You can’t see just from the Youtube video, but if you take a screenshot and enhance it you can clearly see what looks like a sling underneath a gun-shaped object. It is not clear which person was holding the gun.
If it were the shooter’s other rifle they would have had to retrieve it from the truck and walk or run 100 meters, stand facing the school and not even attempt to prevent him from entering (mag looks to be in place). Looks like it was a 20 meter shot so it could have been done with iron sights.
I am not sure I am correct, so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt.

Used a rock to block the door then after the shoot entered went back and remove said rock and the door closed.
Too many coincidents for this to be anything other than what it appears to be.
