Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), a leading Senate advocate for supporting Ukraine’s war against Russia, crossed into Ukraine Sunday and called on the Biden administration to step up its shipments of artillery.
Portman announced his visit while at the Ukraine-Moldova border crossing at Palanca.
“I also had the opportunity to speak with several Ukrainians crossing the border and hear about their concerns about what Russia was doing to their country,” he tweeted.
Portman also met with senior U.S. military officials and allies in the region, traveling to Stuttgart, Germany, and Bucharest, Romania.
“Based on my briefings and discussions this weekend in Germany and Eastern Europe, including with senior Ukrainian officials, I believe the administration should immediately provide artillery to Ukraine that can more effectively counter the Russian weapons,” he tweeted.
Portman says the administration should give Ukraine the MLRS mobile rocket launchers its government has requested.
“These are defensive weapons needed to protect Ukraine. Our allies and the U.S. must continue to give Ukraine the tools it needs to defend itself from the brutal Russian attacks,” he tweeted.
Portman has previously noted that the MLRS rocket systems are one of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s top requests.
“After. My briefings at EUCOM today, it is clear that although the Ukrainians are fighting bravely in the east, they are outgunned by the Russians. These MLFS systems can help balance the field in Ukraine’s favor,” he said Friday, referring to the U.S. European Command.
Portman is co-chair and co-founder of the Senate Ukraine Caucus and has spoken regularly on the Senate floor in support of Ukraine. He is also a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Yeah, trying to fix it failed.
I think you have to change the culture. Christianize the place to effect a real change. And we weren’t willing to do that.
Instead we educated their women and allowed them to vote. They’ve been trying to undo that ever since.
Any clue how many US$ go up in a puff of rocket exhaust every time you fire a salvo of good 'ol US missiles out of one of those things. Must be awesome for the accountants, and the MIC salesperson - caching! Caching! - kids braces, private school, college tuition room and board, a vacation place in Aspen or the Caribbean, just keep at it Vlad, I'm gonna be riiichch.
We know how to do that right here are home. Open boarders. Free stuff for new comers so long as they aren't white and english speaking.
Why not just send troops.
Make America More Bankrupt
When do these jerks start to represent Americans?
I find it bizarre when American politicians talk about GIVING weapons to Ukraine.
SELL weapons to Ukraine and twice the cost of replacing the weapons plus a healthy wartime profit.

What’s wrong with you people? Think ahead for once. Portman gets smooshed in the war zone and the Gov.(DeWine) replaces him with JD Vance. Automatic incumbency. More money available for other races. Who wants to wish death on anyone? How about the rats you naive dildos?
DeWine would know better than to replace him with someone like himself. He’s up too.
“...Give that man a rocket launcher and send him to the front...sarc...”
Paging Bruce Cockburn...
Bruce Cockburn to the white courtesy phone, please...
(even though Cockburn originally wrote the song about the human rights horror show he saw in Guatemala in the Late Seventies/Early Eighties)

God Bless Bruce Cockburn in the 1980’s I would have called him nasty names now I’ve got my senses back enough to appreciate him and his music.
“The Ukraine’s war against Russia.” Because the Ukraine invaded Russia. The pro-Russia neo-con globalist media is amazing.
Can he please stay there? He’s not working for us.
They make it easy sometimes to pick out who is part of the deep state.
Senators don’t negotiate foreign policy. Don’t matter what party.
He does far more for Ukrainians than Americans - why can’t they adopt his sorry ass? 🤪
What you posted has nothing to do with what I posted.
At the rate we’ve been sending arms etc. there and into European countries - including all the bases over there you’d get the drift our military etc. has been shipped overseas.
I don't understand why my monthly Medicare Blue Cross supplemental insurance data arrives with translations available in 30 different languages.
Shouldn't those who paid into Medicare understand good-old English. <>
Wasn’t posting to you specifically. I agree we should profit big time from arms sales.
