The Biden administration is preparing to step up the kind of weaponry it is offering Ukraine by sending advanced, long-range rocket systems that are now the top request from Ukrainian officials, multiple officials say.
The administration is leaning toward sending the systems as part of a larger package of military and security assistance to Ukraine, which could be announced as soon as next week.

The reason I asked was because it was obvious you weren’t with any ARVN combat units. Most of them weren’t worth a crap.
We can’t handle a single front conflict, nonetheless a two front conflict with no domestic energy production and a fractured populace. Half of this country would love a war just so another country would their dirty work and kill the other half.
My assumption is they work like a Swiss timepiece until I know otherwise. But it seams to me that if you can’t win without nukes, then you can’t win. Even testing one in the hinterlands brings diminishing returns pretty quickly. The US will know if they attempt a test. And if it squibs, they can’t unshit that bed.
Going back nearly 40 years, outside the Trump era, neither party or POTUS, Congress et al, ever had any intention of securing our borders. The U.S. government and some local/state governments are very much complicit.
“Kissinger doesn’t think it just talk, neither does John Mearsheimer a Russian expert, both of who would be in a better position to know than you. The only ones downplaying that possibility are the neocon nutjobs.”
Kissinger, the same guy who screwed up the Paris Peace talks and got the US the short end of the stick? That Kissinger?
And Mearsheimer? A hardcore leftist who is lauded by the socialists, and has not — as far as I know — ever been critical of the USSR or Russia (isn’t he the guy who said the Bolsheviks had the right idea but had no idea how to properly implement Bolshevism? Maybe I’m thinking of someone else; I read some of Mearsheimer’s articles a few years ago). He said his his preferred candidate in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary was Bernie Sanders. He has said that economic inequality in the United States was the greatest problem faced by the nation.
Call me...skeptical.
“The reason I asked was because it was obvious you weren’t with any ARVN combat units. Most of them weren’t worth a crap.”
I was talking about the NVA. THEY won and THEY control the country now. So, obviously, in any war it would be THEM that I’d want on our side. The RVN is history.
Thanks for clarifying that.
I worked with some Chieu Hois and after gaining trust in them, they were damned good.
“Ditto their brownwater navy.”
Ditto their air force.
You’re just trying to smear Mearsheimer with stuff you’ve made up, he hasn’t said or done any of those things. He’s no leftist, he’s called liberal hegemony delusional. Your false attack on him makes me think you’re just some kind of shill.
All the way back to dead Ted Kennedy.
“My assumption is they work like a Swiss timepiece until I know otherwise.”
Agree, but the NY Times and other Neocon mouthpieces seem to say otherwise.
As to a test, I’m sure it will work, and it will be done simply because the generation of people running Europe and the White House barely know they exist, much less the blast they provide.
Very interesting categories.
In what category would you place the editorial boards of the Wall Street Journal and the NYPost? (Or Mitch McDonnell, for that matter.) They seem to be gung-ho about pushing us into a war.
You continue to NOT take into account the greatly reduced quantities of nuclear weapons - this is NOT the 1980s anymore. Why bother with you?

Nice try, Sparky. A real conservative would support Bernie Sanders for president, and would embrace the hard-left argument that income inequality is the greatest ill in America.
As for his opposition to “liberal hegemony,” that was a criticism of free-market capitalism on an international scale. He argued that our economic system (free-market capitalism) was doomed to failure if employed on a global level, but that it was more properly intended for national purposes. And then he criticized how the US implemented capitalism because it was so unequal. So, as he said the Soviets mismanaged communism, he also said the US mismanaged capitalism.
War profiteers and various neocon swamp creatures would be my guess.

You moron; those numbers I cited reflect 2021. Look it up, Sparky. It’s easy. Use the !@#$%^& internet.
Typing in the dark.
I didn’t think I needed the sarcasm tag of /s, but in your case I think it’s needed.

Actually the US has mismanaged capitalism, I can’t argue with him there. He’s a respected foreign policy academic and not associated with any partisan views or attachments. The fact that you resorted to argumentum ad hominin to dismiss him means you have no argument against what he says.
