Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) took to the Senate floor in the hours after the Robb Elementary School attack and made clear he does not support allowing school personnel to be armed for classroom defense.
“After delivering an impassioned and anguished plea to his colleagues calling for stricter gun control measures, Senator Chris Murphy, Democrat of Connecticut, objected against the idea of armed staff on sites like school grounds,” the New York Times reported on Tuesday.
Murphy tweeted: “As we look for solutions, this is important. Because over and over – from Parkland to El Paso to Dayton to Uvalde – armed personnel on site couldn’t stop mass shooters who only needed minutes for mass slaughter.”

Will you stand guard ???
Put your unarmed body between the children and the murderer ???
These are the people who tell children to huddle in a classroom so they can be sitting ducks when a shooter is in the building.
The children murdered were in one classroom where the gunman barricaded himself and took his time killing each student.
My son has clear instructions that if a shooter is in the building, break a window, do whatever to get out of the building and get away.
Better to be shot trying to escape than on your knees.
There was a very good article shared here last night that also highlighted this senator’s non interest in addressing mental health issues. As I mentioned on that thread, ones like Murphy and his elite Democrat friends and the media and entertainment industry need this sort of violence and related theatre much like the near future society depicted in the movie The Running Man.
Every time a Rat offers a solution, doing the opposite is the best answer.
Had the exact same thought.
Leave it to Fools like Murphy to always choose a solution that is proven Not to work and bypass something that does work only because it doesn’t fit the democrat socialist agenda. The democrat party’s goal is to disarm the American people by any means available. Only idiots fall for their rhetoric.
repeal gun free zone law
allow school personnel to arm themselves
During a ruckus on January 6 Congress was ok with shooting unarmed citizens.
I guess the rules are different when it is my kid at risk versus Congress.
Maybe he is not a fool. Perhaps he just doesn’t want to solve the problem, he wants to keep it as an issue to bludgeon the conservative constitutionalists.
I was in a meeting with our county sheriff after the Parkland massacre and some gentleman there had a suggestion, I thought made a lot of sense.
While this was meant for a pretty rural county, I think it could work anywhere.
Anyway, his idea was, put at desk & computer terminal in every school for deputies to use for doing reports. Go to a school. Park out front . This would be a visible presence. Go inside and do any paperwork needed. Then back on patrol or end of shift.
A random LEO in a random school at random times doing the part of the job that takes cops off the street, usually in a station could be used even more efficiently with very little cost to city, county or state.
While the suggestion went nowhere in 2012, I still think it is one worthy of delving into.
Murphy is another liberal loser from Ct. We should disarm the people who guard the capital where these political hacks live and work. Let’s make them as vulnerable as they want to make the children.
What an embarrassment he is to our state.
Leftist democrats demand to keep you and I defenseless while they live behind fences with armed guards.
Anyone who votes for democrats is the enemy, folks.
The police stood outside the school for an hour.
Mass shootings rarely, if ever happen at concerts, sporting events, political rallies or other events with large gatherings. What do they have that most of our schools do not? Anyone want to guess? That $56 billion our “leaders” sent to Ukraine could have funded this for. . . Forever. It would literally solve this problem over night. But of course our “leaders” wouldn’t able to use this issue to rally their bases anymore.
Considering the freak if nature teachers in the schools maybe it’s better not to arm them.
WHY?!?
