And I’m not talking about the people he was forced to pick from that worked in the WH or were some type of Cabinet Secretary-type. The talent pool he had to pick from was very shallow and full of sh*t.
I rode public transit today. San Francisco BART subway. I changed from a cool AC car to a hot horrible car that smelled like weed because in the cool AC car were 3 homeless druggies carefully and methodically (on their knees) ripping up a seat cushion. And everyone including the homeless wore the mandated, useless masks but me.

So true. New York State's once beautiful towns and small cities are an example of this destruction, now quite far on the path to total filthy urban ghettoization.
I suspect the high gas prices are to compensate for the reversals dealt to this plan by COVID; nobody wants to take mass transit, many don’t want to commute to work at all anymore, and they sure as hell don’t want to live packed into hives like those in Red China being forced to remain in their cages (monitored by gubmint drones screaming at them to stay inside). It is chilling to watch the videos...
COVID and the related working remotely actually revived some far-flung suburbs in NJ, where people wouldn’t endure a commute to the NYC metro area five times per week but would do so once per week. It reversed a long trend of urbanization here, especially for those with children.
In the NYC metro area I suspect this is being done because the host cities for the unassimilated, non-contributing gibsmedats are bankrupt; most have no tax base, but masses of residents with outstretched palms. The idea seems to be to spread them around so the normals can pay all their bills, but the suburbs themselves are increasingly filled with imported “replacement Americans” buying the homes (as many childless Americans see no reason to tie themselves to those property tax payments, or even geographic areas). The young working Americans will pay higher rents due to the high taxes, but they retain their mobility to escape as their areas are seeded with ghetto folk.
The same thing is happening with their downsized police forces, by the way; surrounding suburbs are encouraged to hire laid-off cops from those broke cities.
I enjoyed watching the Democrats razing the Cabrini Greens.
More public transportation? This system only allows Vietnam vets to punch out more punk black thugs. Where’s the social justice in that?

The exodus from big cities can be counted in the millions of families since the 1960s. The main reason people flee the cities is that families found them to be not child friendly.
If you read the urbanist propaganda, the population of the cities is no longer mentioned. That’s because the city populations have fallen fast and hard. The urban leftist doesn’t want to explain why city populations have decreased precipitously.
Thus, the lying urbanist now only refers to cities as the metropolitan area because it includes suburbs surrounding the failing cities, and makes cities appear larger than they are.
The actual goal is the same as the electric car goal i.e. get Americans out of their cars and more location bound with such travel as is permitted in easily monitored public transportation.
