Attorney General primary candidate George P. Bush, the son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) and the nephew of former President George W. Bush (R), was rejected by Republican voters in all but five of Texas’s 254 counties.
On Tuesday, 68 percent of Republicans voted to re-elect Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who has been a fierce opponent of illegal immigration and the monopolistic business practices of giant tech corporations.
Bush received 32 percent of votes cast, losing to Paxton in all but five of Texas’s 254 counties.
The only counties Bush won were Loving County, where fewer than 10 residents voted; Sterling County, where about 50 residents voted; Kenedy County, where about 6 residents voted; Starr County, where about 200 residents voted; and Travis County — home to the left-wing city of Austin.
Weeks ago, the Texas Tribune reported that Bush’s last name — associated with the legacy of his father and former President George W. Bush — had actually been an obstacle in his campaign for attorney general, as Republican voters have been soured on the political dynasty for years.

Good.
There have been numerous articles written stating that P. is a genuine TEA Party and Trump supporter who is nothing like H.W., W., or Yeb! But, he is suffering from his last name which is Anathema to true Conservatives and President Trump’s base.
I don’t know whether or not this is true. I don’t live in Texas and don’t know much about the guy. But, if those articles are factual I feel for the guy.
Yeah, I knew I’d see Travesty County on the list. San Fran of the Southwest.
I do too, but it is what it is. Dynasties need to die. Perhaps George P was a casualty. He’ll do fine in the private sector.

The Bush family are not native Texans. George P. was being groomed for a run as governor one day. Folks here see right through it.
Another Bush ran for a U.S. House seat a couple of years ago down round Sugarland Texas area. Pierce Bush. He lost.
Texans are wore out by the whole Bush dynasty thing. Wish they’d move out of Texas.
Now we have to see how long it takes for all of ‘em to realize they’re irrelevant.
George P. is NOT a conservative by any measure. If he were, we’d hear about it from the left. And Travis County wouldn’t have voted for him.
George P. Bush spend 8 years alienating exactly the kind of voters who are needed to win a Republican runoff. Messing around with the Alamo did him in.
If anyone else were in a runoff against Paxton, I would have voted for that candidate.
“The Bush family are not native Texans.”
Correct. If memory serves me correctly, the Bush family is from Connecticut where Prescott was elected to Congress.
Explain.
I too neither live in TX nor know much about him but since we don’t have a caste system in the US I won’t hold his ancestry against him.
I mostly agree with Paxton’s actions as TX AG, but he is very sloppy about his professional ethics. If any other Republican candidate were in the runoff, I would not have voted for Paxton.
But if he changed his name, things would be worse for him. That is his dilemma.
Now to get rid of the rest of the Bush League Republicans that support open borders/amnesty...
