When I was 18, I was shooting an M-16 at Camp Medina Texas during my USAF Basic Training.

Incorrect. The Border Patrol was given jurisdiction over any area 100 miles or less from the border. Roughly 90% of the US population lives in this quasi-constitutional zone where they can be detained without reason and held indefinitely and even deported without hearing regardless of their US citizenship.
I think some districts have allowed teachers/some teachers to carry, in TX.
Prob not related but I love 4 hours away and saw at least 3 state troopers heading down i10 at 8am this morning. Thought it was weird.
And it would seem the school didn’t lock the outside doors to prevent intruders from entering the building. My children’s school locks the doors and I have to get buzzed in if I visit during the school day.

My DI beat it into our heads that we fire our rifles and shoot at targets.
How did he get in the building? Our schools have had the doors locked for years
IF he ran in pulling an unlocked back door to do so (there’s a video of him running up behind the building), then that is something that shouldn’t have happened.
I’m hearing this took place around 12:30, so it could have been at lunch or recess when some back doors would have been open for that...
