FORT BRAGG, N.C. -- A blue-ribbon Army commission has recommended new names for nine Army bases named after Confederate leaders, including Fort Bragg, which will be recommended as being renamed Fort Liberty, according to a U.S. official Tuesday.

Later Tuesday, the Army Naming Commission is expected to formally disclose its recommended names for the bases named after Confederate generals.

Last year, Congress passed legislation that required the renaming of U.S. military installations named after Confederate leaders by 2023.

And we'll rename them right back when we take over.

And this all came about as fallout from George Floyd.

Nothing against those being honored, but let’s remember this was a knee jerk reaction to a media/activist narrative about George Floyd and alleged racism.

Fort Arthur Gregg & Charity Adams

What a “wonderful” name. Maybe the Navy should do this too. The “USS Stephen Decatur and Christine Keeler”. The “USS JFK and Marilyn Monroe.”

And none of this renaming and removal of statues costs one cent. How odd.

Hey, just do what we do in Chicago when they rename the stadiums or buildings. Just everyone keep calling it by the old name anyway. It’s still “Sears Tower”, “Comiskey Park”, etc, no matter what corporation is sponsoring it at the moment.

If you do not learn the lessons of history you are doomed to repeat those failures.
Confederates were Democrats.

“And we’ll rename them right back when we take over.”

No we won’t, because none of the elected officials on the right want to be associated with “defending the confederacy”, so they won’t bother.

President Trump does. And he will rename them when he wins in 2024 , the same way Dementia Joe did. By executive fiat.

Well, you should for multiple reasons. #1 All the signage, websites, letterhead, envelopes, etc. will be replaced at taxpayer expense. Every dime wasted on this is a dime not spent on our soldiers and their training to kill and break things #2 It is all part of the movement to erase American history. In this case, Southern Democrat history. Every damn Democrat needs wear a scarlet letter of slavery.

Alas, rewriting history will not change it. Should everything named after all the SCJs who ruled slavery legal for almost 90 years be changed as well? Just askin because almost to a man they were democrats.

I guess they have not figured out yet that “Liberty” is the name of the talking horse in Rush Limbaugh’s childrens book series.

Use the ZIP codes only on EVERY base

Fort 28307

Motto? Scrap the moldy oldy Army Strong for:

“May no one be offended, ever.”
“Nemo scandalizatur, semper”

Rename weapons systems to suit...

Unicorn tank
Scittles cluster bomb
Iron prophylactic missile dome

My suggestions, should we rename them, is to either rename them all after Medal of Honor recipients or numbers. Numbers should not upset anyone.
