I am a middle-aged African American father, reeling from the sheer horror of what happened to members of my community in Buffalo. Through my pain, I am praying for all the victims and their traumatized families, friends and neighbors -- and for all the minority Americans who are feeling even more afraid now than they did before.

Because you are male, you were born a winner of the patriarchal jackpot. You are more likely to rise to the top of the career ladder and will be better paid on your way up. The state will not attempt to dictate what you can and cannot do with your own body. You will benefit from better education, health care, job opportunities and finances, for example, than your peers who happen to be Black. If you have the added bonus of being Christian, heterosexual, cisgender and able-bodied, then you might well never know firsthand how it feels to be stigmatized, marginalized or hated because of some aspect of yourself over which you have absolutely no control. That makes you very lucky indeed.

I am glad that you are a "African American Father", one of perhaps 18% of black families who have fathers who live with the mother in a family unit.)

  (As a potential part of the 3% of the US population that accounts for nearly 40% of all violent crime in the USA, shouldn't you feels some pain for those non-blacks who are subjected to violent crime by black men? Let me explain in case it isn't clear: Blacks make up 12% of the US population. Black males make ups slightly less than half of that, but to keep numbers round, let's say 6%. And let's assume that at least 50% of those black men are gainfully employed trying to make a living, or not engaged in crime, violent or otherwise, so that brings it down to 3% of the US population responsible for nearly 40% of the violent crime. If you doubt those numbers, feel free to go to the LINK: FBI Uniform Crime Reporting system (LINK) which aggregates crime statistics voluntarily submitted from everywhere around the country. If you look at race and violent crime defined as Murder, Rape, Armed Robber, and Aggravated Assault from 2009-2019 it shows this below. So I suggest you clean up your own act before accusing everyone not your color (which is racism) of racism.)
