Oh my Gawd! Does the Dimjo Administration know of this? if not please do not tell them, they will shut it down for sure.
The administration will go to extreme lengths not to get it to production.
NO NO NO!!! There is a spotted rat that ONLY lives where these mines are located. Gotta shut it all down.
Never happen - mining like other natural resource harvesting is slowly being eliminated by the radical greens and envirowackos, you know the folks who are organic eaters, vegetarians, insect eaters, vegans and who knows what else - they know whats best for you and feel good about making you do it.
Even running iron laden sand overt magnets makes them freak out, riot and destroy property before the litigation even begins
It has things we need? That means it will cause too much environmental damage and will accelerate climate change so it can not be allowed to proceed.
Better shut up or Biden will try to block it!
Governor Ricketts has been very pro development. I pray future administrations stay pro development.
These minerals, etc, wouldn’t be under farmland that Bill Gates has been buying, would they? huh? huh? Any chicom ownership involved or are the chicoms content to raise pigs in the neighborhood? And has anybody quit farming waiting for the price on farmland to go up? There’s a drought doncha know?
Omaha, you say? How much of this does Buffett own? And how close is a Union Pacific rail line to the coming hole-in-the-ground?
The Dems will never allow it. Right now China holds a significant proportion of the world’s sources of rare earths.
I would bet against this getting anywhere, the same way I’d bet against energy right now.
We need Ultra MAGA.
“The real enemy is the environmentalists”
The environmental movement is largely driven and funded by enemies of the West - first the USSR, now the CCP.
I doubt it. I suspect these are open-pit mines.
” Isn’t there an endangered cricket or something that would suffer if this deposit was mined? /sarc “
Not yet, but you can get anything on Amazon, pretty quick.
Dr. House?😏
The environmental lawyers will find some endangered stinky slug and ban any production.
Nope.

NioCorp is developing North America’s only niobium / scandium / titanium advanced materials manufacturing facility co-located with an underground mine. Located near Elk Creek, Nebraska, this will be the highest grade niobium project in North America, as well as one of the largest prospective producers of scandium in the world.
Niobium is a relatively scarce metal and there are only three primary Niobium mines in the world today. But growing demand has created a global market value of >$2 billion, according to Roskill. Niobium is considered so critical by the U.S. that it is one of a small handful of metals that the National Defense Stockpile purchases, according to DoD Strategic and Critical Materials reports.

In addition to the primary minerals, they have REES. They will be refining/processing them in addition to mining them.
CENTENNIAL, Colo. (May 18, 2022) – An updated feasibility study of NioCorp Developments Ltd.’s (“NioCorp” or the “Company”) (TSX: NB; OTCQX: NIOBF) Elk Creek Project (the “Project”) shows that the Project is the second-largest indicated-or-better rare earth resource in the U.S., second only to MP Materials’ Mountain Pass rare earth deposit.
The Company has completed an updated feasibility study (the “2022 Feasibility Study”) in collaboration with Understood Mineral Resources Ltd., Optimize Group Inc., and Dahrouge Geological Consulting Ltd. Rare earth elements (“REEs”) were evaluated as a potential by-product to the mining of niobium, titanium, and scandium; thus the estimated values of the REEs are reported using the previously determined diluted Net Smelter Return (“NSR”) as derived from the Nb2O5, TiO2, and scandium Mineral Resources. According to the 2022 Feasibility Study, the Elk Creek Project contains an estimated 632.9 kilotonnes (“kt”) of contained total rare earth oxides (“TREO”) in the indicated mineral resource category.[1] According to U.S. Geological Survey data,[2] this places the Elk Creek Mineral Resource behind MP Materials’ Mountain Pass deposit in the U.S. but ahead of all other current rare earth projects in terms of contained TREO from a NI 43-101 rare earth resource of indicated or higher classification.
According to the 2022 Feasibility Study, in addition to relatively high grades of niobium, scandium, and titanium, the Elk Creek Mineral Resource contains various amounts of all REEs. There is potential for NioCorp’s REEs to be mined, crushed, and placed into solution as part of the process NioCorp plans to use to produce its primary niobium, scandium, and titanium products once Project financing is secured. Depending upon the outcome of metallurgical testing on REE recovery rates from Elk Creek ore, now being conducted at a demonstration plant in Quebec, and whether necessary Project financing is secured, NioCorp could produce separated rare earths as a byproduct, placing it at a competitive advantage vis-à-vis other rare earth projects.
A new technical report on the Elk Creek Project summarizing the results of the 2022 Feasibility Study will be prepared by Dahrouge Geological Consulting Ltd. and Optimize Group Inc. in accordance with NI 43-101. The technical report will include details regarding the updated Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve estimates presented herein, which are derived from the 2022 Feasibility Study, and will be filed on SEDAR (www.sedar.com) within 45 days of this news release.
