If he runs for President in 2070, he’ll still be younger than Biden was in 2020.

No loss. Solid red seat with plenty of conservatives to replace him,

Unfortunately the kid seems to have some serious personal issues.

The kid? I know it is relative to your age, but can we stop calling adults kids?

26 years old is not a kid. Perhaps the real reason things are so screwed up is their parents continuing coddling.

So you’d rather risk a full blown Democrat winning the seat, than a Republican-Light?

No, I'd rather have a MAGA candidate win running as a candidate for the Constitution or Patriot parties rather than another Bush/Romney RINO pretending to represent the people who voted for him.

This kind of thinking is why we are in the mess we are in...

We are in the mess that we are in because the RINOs conspired with the Dems to rig the 2020 election. The RINOs need to be retired by whatever means necessary.

“the soldiers in the fight need to be disciplined, rational, and professional” -— That leaves out Trump.

The kid clearly has maturity issues. It's clear the kid is still a kid despite the number of his age.

You summed up my opinion nicely. I hope he uses this loss as an education and not let it ruin his life. From my casual observations, he’s a good person just immature. I hope he doesn’t go away, he still can be an influence on lots of young people once he matures.

I agree - the guy seems to be lacking in moral filters unashamedly.

No surprise there. He seemed immature to be a US rep.

““the soldiers in the fight need to be disciplined, rational, and professional” -— That leaves out Trump.”

Trump was the right person for 2016, and 2020. By 2024 he may not be. Biden, Pelosi, and McConnell should be causing voters to question putting candidates in their late 70’s in office. He will be 78 running for POTUS in 2024 and his age will be an issue if the Democrats run a viable candidate in his/her 50’s or early 60’s.

Trump’s style was new and refreshing in 2016. For years the Republican voter base had clamored for a candidate who would fight for conservative values, not capitulate once the media barrage began. Since then we’ve seen DeSantis follow the Trump combative approach with success, but without the nastiness of Trump’s personal attacks. DeStantis comes across strong and steadfast. He also is cunning and plays smartly the long game, not allowing his enemies to goad him into making offensive comments which don’t further his objectives. Given the Trump of the 2020 election, or the DeSantis of today, I would vote for DeSantis.

DeSantis has proven an ability to govern a large state well, he is standing up to the social justice warrior and media mob, and he keeps his opponents on the defensive. He will be 45 years old in 2024. Should the Democrats be foolish enough to run Biden again, or Hillary, he will look young and energetic. He will be able to run on Florida’s economic success, at a time when most of the nation is suffering from the lethargic Biden economy.

DeSantis is disciplined, rational, and professional. He will appeal to moderate voters looking for an effective problem solver and smart leader in troubled times. Plus he will be eligible to serve two consecutive terms, whereas Trump will only be eligible for one term.

Trump’s election in 2016 temporarily saved the nation from the leftist tyranny we are seeing today. However, Trump demonstrated an inability to assemble a strong, effective team under him to fight the swamp. He was frequently provoked by the press and Democrats into petty issues that distracted his administration’s attention from the longer term issues. He was also unable to develop an effective relationship with the GOP Senate. Why would things be any different if Trump is elected president in 2024?

I don’t know why, but I felt that he did these outrageous and inappropriate acts to over compensate for his handicap.

Maybe some of it, but it doesn't account for his statement to CNN that Biden won the election fair and square. Lost me there.

Once videos of his activities came out I figured he was done, and that not even a Trump endorsement would save him. You can bet that McConnell was the one behind the release of the videos.

I don’t know anything about Edwards. He must not be any good if he’s supported by McConnell. Is he going to be just another Crenshaw (eyepatch McCain)?

Bravo! When I was 26, I already had two children of my own and had purchased my first home. I was too busy making a living and supporting my family to get into any real mischief.

My own children were all on their own by their early 20s. I stopped thinking of them as "kids" way before that.

Bravo to you and your parenting skills.

I am the same... well I was 26 with my first, and 28 with my second.

A home, bills, golden rule living and my two adult “kids” are on their own and doing well.
