Remember during the sharp increase in gas prices in 1979, pumps could not record a price higher than 99.9 cents per gallon? Eventually pumps were set up to accomodate a price over $1.00 per gallon.
It sounds like we are facing the same sort of situation here. Pumps which can’t accomodate a price over $9.99 per gallon will have to be reset to accomodate prices over $10.00 per gallon.
You hate to think the next step, having to reprogram to accomodate a price over $99.99 per gallon will ever happen. But with inflation, who knows what’s in our future?
I think the Great Resetters would love a Zimbabwe style hyperinflation, where everything falls apart, general misery and chaos abounds, and people finally cry “uncle” and call for a worldly savior.
These people are as evil as evil can be. I’m not a big prophecy buff, but this has a distinct feeling of the last days.
I remember older pumps that could not go above $0.499/gal.
I lived through the Jimmy Carter years.
Some local gas stations dealt with that issue by changing the unit to quarts or liters.
Joe Inflation Biden is even worse than Jimmy Inflation Carter was.
