There will actually be 16 jurors seated during the trial with four not knowing that they are alternates and will not be "in the room" when the case goes to the jury for a verdict.
Lengthy discussion regarding the infamous #SteeleDossier ...former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele cannot be compelled to testify so the dossier will enter the case tangentially in testimony from several witnesses, including #FusionGPS employee Laura Seago.

He is mostly concerned about future testimony on this topic. Andrew DeFilippis, a prosecutor, said Joffe was terminated for bypassing the proper channel for sharing his materials on the alleged Alfa Bank-Trump connection

Judge Cooper says the government should steer clear of this topic. The propriety of Joffe’s handling of the research and material is not on trial here and he was terminated for cause later. At the time, he was known as a respected expert
Hellman said it took him and another agent less than a day to ascertain the data and “white papers” on two thumb drives Sussmann gave Baker did not support the Trump-Alfa Bank “secret connection” allegation.
And yet, it NEVER OCCURRED TO Hellman...all through those terrible three years...to let us, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, know what he thought “two thumb drives ...did not support the Trump-Alfa Bank “secret connection” allegation.
THANKS A LOT, HELLMAN.

Berkowitz is focusing on the fact there were no allegations of a hack, and therefore no mater for the cyber division (in which Hellman works) to pursue.

Berkovitz is asking Hellman if the counterintelligence unit did open an investigation based on the Sussmann tip, even though he had penned a memo questioning the quality and accuracy of the report. Hellman confirms counterintelligence did in fact open an inquiry
Questioning again for him is starting out technical. He talks about DNS data and what kinds of services his employer provides and what it does with DNS data etc
Steve De Jong says Rodney Joffe, who was Neustar's chief tech officer, in Aug/Sept 2016 asked him to run a query over DNS data to look for names related to political campaigns and political organizations
He said he "didn't think anything of it" at the time. Research is requested all the time, he said.
De Jong says he ran a script to conduct the searches requested by Joffe and sent it off
De Jong said he never got any insight into why Joffe wanted it. "It's not my business," he said.
De Jong said he never heard whether Joffe shared this project with the government or anyone else. "No," he said.
Bosworth briefly questions De Jong. Establishes that Joffe is respected DNS expert and worked with government/FBI, won FBI award. Sussmann had nothing to do with pulling and analyzing the DNS data. And we're done for the day./44

They are going to start a dance of distraction and misdirection.
This is going to go from FBI counterintelligence to FBI department of let’s divert, to Heaven knows where.
BUT, I feel Durham is good enough to pull it all together and I hope he does.
Imagine Hellman...yeah I saw that there was nothing to it...yada,yada.
OKAY, but when the stuff started coming out in force, couldn’t he put two and two together?
OH, I know, he is one of the 1 percent who are really, really good guys, but do nothing about putting things straight.
Sussman was a major player in all this, even if most folks didn’t know his name. Those that followed the issue closely knew who he was long before the indictments. He was a nexus for a lot of stuff.
“Here is some evidence of coordination.”
“You can’t use that! It might make people think there was coordination!”
Not to mention not allowing the text where Sussman directly says he isn’t going to the meeting on behalf of any client.

Judge Cooper says some evidence on Sussmann’s meetings with Christopher Steele/Fusion GPS can be introduced as evidence, but the govn’t cannot get into anything about Steele providing his dossier to the FBI
