Congressional Black Caucus Chair Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio) on Monday called for Congress to take action in the wake of the fatal shooting of 10 people in Buffalo, N.Y., over the weekend, saying that “thoughts and prayers are not enough.”
“I am horrified to see another devastating act of hateful gun violence in America. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the thirteen innocent people who lost their lives due to this tragic hate crime,” Beatty said in a statement on Monday.
“This story is not new; we’ve seen this play out repeatedly. But we are very clear, thoughts and prayers are not enough,” she added.
A gunman opened fire at Tops Friendly Market in Buffalo on Saturday, killing 10 people and wounding three more. Eleven of the victims were Black and police said the shooter intentionally targeted Black people.
Authorities are investigating the shooting as a hate crime.
Beatty is calling on Congress to take a series of steps, including urging the Senate to abolish the filibuster and pass House-approved gun control legislation.

Just another instance in which gun laws, already on the books, were not applied. Therefore, we need even MORE gun laws, which, in their turn, shall not be applied.
But which provide such a puzzling and distorted picture, of just what is legal and illegal. Never mind the right or wrong of the situation.

Per WKBW: 2020 and 2021 were Buffalo’s most violent years in decades with 65 people killed in 2020 and 67 in 2021.
The video of the shooting is absolutely awful. He even shot the wounded. Whatever was his state of mind, but he clearly isn’t seeing his victims as human beings.
Certainly, this animal does not deserve to live another day. But I cannot think of a solution that will prevent another one. Is it video games? It could be, but how do you prevent crazy people from playing?
I’m so tired of these evil idiots. We have over 5000 state gun laws, 460 pages of atf laws, dozens more federal laws, etc. We know what they’re doing and it’s treasonous to limit or ban gun ownership. I don’t care what they say..I will never comply to these tyrants. They are why we are armed!

Julio Gonzalez still has the shooter beat. Gonzalez killed 87 at the Happyland Dance Club with just a can of gasoline and a match. No guns involved.
And the 9-11 killers killed 2977 people. Again, no guns involved.
