Abbott said it can restart the plant within two weeks...However, it would take six to eight weeks from the start of production for formula to arrive on store shelves, the company noted...Abbott said last week that no formula distributed from the plant to consumers tested positive for the bacteria, and genetic sequencing of two samples from the sick infants did not match the Cronobacter strains found in the plant...

Zee bribe haz been delivered.
The FDA got off its ass and did its job.
Had it done this in October, when all this started, it would have been resolved and the shortage would have been less severe.
But typical federal gov’t....sits on its hands and does nothing for months and months.
Agreement is not execution. The parties still have to negotiate the bizarro world of court approval, which has come to mean, relying on the whims of the judicial representatives involved.
This is no longer a matter of mere corruption. It is a distance-and-direction urination contest.
how much did they have to donate to democrats?
F Joe tells the FDA to make the bad optics stop. He did the same thing with DHS to make the Haitian border videos stop as well. Not complicated.
From another post ...
A somewhat plausible conspiracy theory: an Obama operative slips into a baby formula manufacturing facility (not Abbot, they have been exonerated) and poisons a few cans of formula. A few weeks later two babies die from the tainted formula and the FDA shuts down all manufacturing of baby formula. While the FDA and the JustUs departments conduct cursory investigations, the shortage becomes a crisis. Eventually a ‘benevolent’ FDA decrees that formula production may resume while blaming the issue on everyone except Big Government.
I did not mis-type when I noted ‘Obama’ above. If you think Xiden is smart enough or inhuman enough to implement a plan like this, you are not paying close attention. It is the behind-the-scenes die-hard, self-admitted USA hating communists like Obama, Jarret, Rice, Holder, etc that qualify for this type of thinking and planning.
A final note: this type of operation is easily duplicated in other supply chain scenarios. An example: why does California restrict big rig access to their seaports? It is unlikely that the only reason is smog control.
I read a NYT article that said the plant still needs to fix some things so it’s probably going to be months, not weeks.
Whilst I completely agree on who is running things, and I’d add Soros as the bankroll, I ask what would be the motive here?
My guess is the FDA people involved are still working from home. This is why it takes months to re-open this plant. WFH means permanent semi-vacation.
For many WFH means staring zombie-like at your laptop for X number of hours per day. Maybe 4 hours if you have a Gov’t job. WFH in the private sector is different.
That manly looking Dem congress woman criticized the handling of this. I was shocked . The one the dyes her hair purple.
Nothing would surprise me about these people. If there is no crisis, create one. If people have to die, so what? As long as they get paid.
As I read this the shutdown was pure bunk:
Do I trust Abbott? No.
Do I trust the feds? Even less.
crisis caused and crisis averted, thank your democratic politicians for saving us yet again.......right before the midterms
100% correct ... this would NEVER have happened under President Trump ... Peter Navarro would have been all over this ASAP ...
Actually, the end of July.
NOW like in China and Russia your Business exists only at the whim of the government! Used to be a word for that but I can’t recall it:-)
Another govt engineered catastrophe.
I have read all kinds of crap about the closing of this plant.
It took 2 weeks to determine the plant was not at fault in the babies deaths.
Still don’t have an answer from the fed as to why the plant has been closed for 3 months.
And, there are 2 more in Texas that are closed.
Even if you count from when the FDA shutdown the plant in February, the issue should have been resolved within the month.
My understanding is that the overall formula shortage issues were beginning to be seen as early as last November, well before the plant was shut down.
