New NY State Congressional Maps Released (Bad new for Rats)
Dave Wasserman - Twitter ^ | 05/16/2022 | Dave Wasserman

Posted on 05/16/2022 10:14:56 AM PDT by TexasGurl24

“Not unexpected, but this NY map is pretty bad news for Democrats. With so many competitive seats, it’s not hard to envision a 16D-10R (or even 15D-11R) split on a great GOP night, which is a far cry from the 22D-4R rout Dems initially tried to gerrymander.”

Wasserman is a hack, and he is crying tears of unfathomable sadness that the Dems lost the gerrymandered mess that he was cheering on.

Here is the DRA values:

I think there were 7 Trump seats on this map. There are several great pickup opportunities in a wave year too.

So is a NY Republican to the right of a Communist, and the left of a Socialist?

There as actual Republicans in NY. Conservatives also (inc yours truly). However not enough of us to get elected or matter. Most of us are counting the days until retirement and moving out....

I think that was my thought, also. This sounds like good news for RINOs.

Born and raised in NY. Been Conservative my entire life. 99 per cent of friends and acquaintances are also. There is hope in NY. Just have to get NYC on board with reality.

I grew up in western NY. The suburbs south of Buffalo.

Most people in upstate NY would prefer if everything from Westchester County down through NYC and Long Island was a separate state.

Western NY is more like OH or the mid west. The Adirondacks is more like northern New England. Central NY is dairy country with medium sized post peak cities in decline.

Thank the lord the rats overreached by a lot. A way off the charts overreach. They are usually smarter than that. Smells desperate and arrogant

All districts should be drawn by computer, with no party affiliations known................

The 19th should be an easy GOP pick up as Delgado the Dem is quitting to be NY Lt. Governor.

As long as we have RCV in NYC and RCV-enabled voting machines in the state, gerrymandering is the least of our problems.

Is this final final or can this get tossed in some way?

My current GF is a Conservative NYC gal.
I didn’t even think they existed until two years ago.

Most people in upstate NY would prefer if everything from Westchester County down through NYC and Long Island was a separate state.

There are two MAGA counties in the area that you want to exclude.

This was a huge problem Trump had with his first budget. There were almost 30 reps from NY,Penn,Mich and California that blocked some of the important things to us

Nate Silver’s site says:

“On May 16, Cervas released a first draft of his proposed map, giving interested parties two days to comment before the final draft is submitted May 20.”

Substantial changes are probably unlikely.
