Spot on. We don’t have the luxury at this point of being able to vote with our hearts.
NOT voting with our heart and our gut has gotten us WHERE?? We keep winning elections and LOSING our great republic, SORRY it is way past time to START voting with our hearts and our gut, the way we did with Trump!!
Sleazier is a boor.
“This is about winning”
The Rino GOPe mantra.
It selects the Romneys. And Doles.
We're way past due to vote for patriots.
T.B. Yoits wrote: “Exactly. Voting “pragmatically” has gotten us nothing but RINOs, loss of rights, trillions in debt, an illegal alien invasion, a stolen election, etc.

The only thing voting for ‘patriots’ in the past has produced is more democrat politicians.
Such hand wringing over PA. The media is going to crap on all the Rs.
McCormick seems like he’ll slither right into the swamp and be there forever like a McConnell, Graham, Blunt.
Sell out your conservative principles to score a win. That way McConnell and the swamp can continue without opposition.
Don't vote for the most constitutional candidate, vote for the polished, crafted politician so you can complain about RINOs for the next few years.
The Founders envisioned ordinary citizens serving in government. Don't listen to them. Listen to swamp creatures tempting your with "experience", "talent", "electability" and "broad appeal"
Sorry to all the weak constitutionalists. I am voting for Barnette and I am willing to lose with Barnette. I need to look myself in the mirror after election day and know that I voted my principles, not expediency.
It sure looks to me like the entire Republican Party, all three branches are spending an inordinate amount of jaw grease, printing ink and column inches trying to take down an uppity Negro. Almost like she knows where the body is buried.
If I lived in Pennsylvania, my thoughts would be, if they all dislike her that much, maybe she is worthy of my vote.
Correct. When the GOPe wins, I lose. Barnette for Senate.
Then they weren't patriots.
I’d read the headline differently. Whoever you elect is going to disappoint you sometime. See politicians and commentators for what they are. See their faults up front and recognize that everybody will disagree with you or disappoint you sometime. So don’t fall in love with politicians and forever after complain about them not being what you wanted.
I no longer have confidence in elections.
It doesn’t matter who we vote for, or how great they sound when campaigning. It took me most of my years to realize we are being played over and over.
These people want the greatest jobs in the world.... oh the opportunities they get. They are not running to save America.
We are so easily fooled by words.
Why do I say this? Because as I look back at the people I voted for, almost all who elected....turned into Rinos. I voted for McConnell when I lived in KY and campainged for Romney. Remember, Conservatives at one time supported Romney. Those are just two of them that fooled me.
It is a very reasonable and persuasive article. Pennsylvania is not the state I remember from decades ago. Neither is the country. Philly and Pittsburgh are two tough hills to climb for a conservative politician here.

.
Yes. Let’s let the republican party pick candidates. It’s worked so well in the past.
Oh Mr Schlichter,
I don’t love Barnette, but I am going to support her, and if she isn’t the nominee, and OZ is, I assure you, I will NOT support him, and neither one of those decisions are based on being in love with anyone.
No I am not going to rally behind a piece of crap, just because the “other piece of crap” is worse.... After a lifetime of holding my nose to pull the leaver for the turds the GOP of PA have put before me, only to be kicked in the groin by them again and again, I will no longer do so.
The establishment GOP of PA are a swamp, they decided before this race began Oz or McCormick, neither of which have any political base here... and that these two will be the acceptable folks. A Wall Street Bush republican, or a “celebrity” who’s openly supported things that are abjectly morally repugnant, and against some of the basic planks of the “Republican” platform.
No sir, I won’t hold my nose and follow your script. We have worked too hard to get people like these OUT of office in the last 5 years, I will not be party to putting another one in.
Attack me all you like, I don’t care. I have loyally supported the garbage you have put in front of me my entire adult life.. held my nose because of the boogeyman of the other side.
Watched you not even bother to take the field to try to win winnable races because your priorities were elsewhere, put up garbage candidates again and again... etc etc etc.. No more. I’m done... if you won’t put up someone worth voting for, they won’t get my vote, period.
I am not alone. If the dem wins because of that, fine, Next Time give me someone WORTH voting for to take them out.. Better that than the same democrat light in there for decades and claiming “ooo this is so much better”.
Mr Schlichter, you are completely free to do what you like.. I however have to live long term with the GOP of PA, and they are never going to change as long as people behave the way you do. My goal is long term, and that’s to stop being offered crap.. If that means short term pain to accomplish a long term goal so be.
