This is especially true when a political office as consequential as a seat in the U.S. Senate is at stake. There’s a huge difference between Donald Trump (or even Ben Carson) running for President with no political experience, and Kathy Barnette — who hasn’t even worked in a job as responsible as your local bank branch manager in the last decade — running for a Senate seat.
