Trump endorsement of Mastriano leaves Pennsylvania Republicans furious

MECHANICSBURG, PA— In picking a sure thing by endorsing state Sen. Doug Mastriano for governor in PA, former President Donald Trump has set off a chain of events that could cost Republicans the governor's office and ensure him a tough race in PA if he chooses to run for president.

Allegheny County Republican Party Chairman Sam DeMarco was stunned when the news hit social media: “I am very disappointed with the president's decision in picking Mastriano. It's not exactly going out on a limb supporting someone in the lead three days before the election; it does guarantee him one win in this state on Tuesday,” said DeMarco in an interview with the Washington Examiner.

Jackie Kulback, the head of the Cambria County Republican Party, a grassroots powerhouse who just recently took this post-industrial county from a Democratic-majority county to a Republican one, was furious at Trump’s decision to back Mastriano.

The president's endorsement of Mehmet Oz was very hard to understand to begin with; now we have a three-way, a very tight three-way race for the critical Pennsylvania Senate seat, and to most of us, it appears that Oz is beginning to fade. So, what does the president do? He's going to shore that up somehow and endorse a sure thing — it is very disappointing,” said Dave Ball.

Kulback said Trump’s interference in PA would be costly: “It will cost a very winnable governor's seat. Dave White or Lou Barletta could have easily beat Shapiro in the fall in a very good year for Republicans.”

I’m voting for Barnette and Barletta.

B & B -- that's the ticket!

Who the heck is advising Trump? First the Hollywood liberal, Oz; now Mastriano, and I’m wondering if there are others around the country.

‘Mastriano voted this sh!t into law as a state senator.”

Please, send me anything you have to inform on that. He’s been an absolute Pitbull on election integrity since 2020, so I need to look into the context of his actions prior...

Regardless, if Mastriano wins, he will be in a MUCH better position to quash anything in furtherance of election fraud ,and quickly, much more so than a single senator.

Look up Act 77 from 2019. The 2020 election fiasco couldn’t have happened without it. There was absolutely no compelling reason for any of that crap to be passed into law. And Mastriano voted for it.

Mastriano has no idea what he’s doing. I hate politics and politicians.

So, the implication is, you DO know what you are doing. So, since you know what you are doing, I would vote for you if you were running. But you are not, he is, so all you are doing is getting so lathered up over nothing. Good intentions with no action is nothing.

Did you ever see him debate? He’s awful…that is a fact. I personally like what he has done, aside from act 77, but against Shapiro, there ain’t no way he can out debate that snake. Sorry…just facts.

In my opinion, our country is lost without a strong elixir being poured into every corner of government. Electing RINOs simply guarantees the slow march to totalitarianism in this country. Yes, RINOs and more conservative dems (like Manchin) will save us once in a while but most of the time, they will not...sort of like John McCain, Mitt Romney, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski.

So, we either vote in freedom loving zealots or we will eventually be the Soviet Union. The last two years proved that to me.

Additionally, the transition to a totalitarian state will happen so slowly, no one will really notice when we cross that threshold to being the Soviet Union because the totalitarianism will have slowly become normalized in our entire society. There will not be a 1917 revolution followed by civil war in the US to mark a quick transition to totalitarianism. Please remember, there are current political prisoners in jail without trial in Washington DC for having walked into the Capitol when the police purposely opened the doors. There are also thousand of antifa who are free after destroying and looting cities around the country.

So, yes, my strategy as you call it, it is work to elect freedom loving zealots only.

I agree with the concept. However, to preserve a majority, a RINO is much better than a democrat.
Fight in the primary, vote GOP in the general.

I agree with your point but no RINO should survive the primary process anymore.

Agreed, but if one does, vote for him in the general.
