A person is free to mock various different (even nominally Christian) religions.
I find, for example, certain doctrines of the Mormons to be ludicrous. I find, for example, certain dogmas of the Jehovah's Witnesses to be deplorable. Etc.
I'm sure that many Jews find the concept of, e.g., the Virgin Birth impossible to take seriously.

As long as our Constitutional rights are not cast in doubt, I have no problem with this form of ridicule being directed at various preposterous religious tenets. Frankly, it leaves me cold.

It pains me to admit it, but some times that big nosed, God denier is correct.
The biggest problem with Maher is his fear of God, because it denies him the freedom to be a hedonist without fear of damnation.

Jews only reject Christianity because it ends their religion and the power that goes with it.
When God sent/sends His Son, that ends the wait, and while Christians accept that the Virgin birth was the beginning, Jews didn't want to accept the end of their dominance.
It is one of the main reasons that Jews have been persecuted, world wide, their belief is a direct rejection of Christianity.
Even though religion is a belief not a rational deduction, one cannot believe that both Christianity and Judaism are compatible religions, regardless of how many time s the Pope and the Head Rabbi of Jerusalem shake hands and pretend to believe in the 'same God'.
