Good. That means they don’t need our $40 billion tax dollars now.
That’s simply because nobody wants dollars anymore in Russia. Do you suggest that they are also manipulating the ruble rate on Forex in London and the Ruble/Yuan rate on Shanghai exchange? If there were manipulations you would have to see increased volumes and centbank selling its dollars away. It doesn’t happen for some reason. Foreign importers are buying rubles to pay for Russian exports instead.
You guys are almost funny in your russophobic zeal.
“Sources in Ukraine believe that the Institute for the Study of War is the least reliable source for information on the war.
They have ties to Victoria Nuland who has a beef with Russia that goes back generations and is one of the reasons she aided the color revolution that put Zelenskyy in power.”
They obviously lack the understanding of the idea of “fixing operation”. It is fun to see that every “battle” Ukraine “won” is after the Russian forces are orderly leaving some location for another objective.
“Good. That means they don’t need our $40 billion tax dollars now”
Ukraine probably needs closer to $200 billion, and it will be money well spent. Just how much money did the US end up spending in the Cold War? Putin’s Ukrainian misadventure probably means the end of Russian adventurism for the next 30 years.
Remember the Cold War myth that Russian soldiers were indomitable 10-feet-tall super-warriors? Afghanistan and now Ukraine put the lie to that notion.

How about these guys?
Ukraine says Russian forces withdrawing from Kharkiv — live updates

Those aren’t sources in Ukraine.
The sources you seem to refer to are the Russian propaganda mill.
On Saturday reports showed Russian units had not attempted to hold their lines against counterattacking Ukrainian troops around the city.
Ukrainian forces prevented Russian troops from encircling, let alone seizing Kharkiv, and then expelled them from around the city, as they did to Russian forces attempting to seize Kyiv.
They were right when they called the Russian attack on Kyiv stalled with large casualties. So far their maps of areas controlled by both sides are accurate.
Long term, Russia is cutting it’s own throat.
Russian Oil Production May Fall To 18-Year Low On EU Oil Embargo
“Russia’s oil production is already falling and will continue dropping in the coming months and years as Moscow will not be able to redirect to China and India all the volumes it is losing in Europe—its biggest oil market before the invasion of Ukraine. Restrictions, combined with the lack of access to Western technology to pump harder-to-recover oil and enhance production from maturing wells will hit Russia’s oil industry not only in the near term but also in the long term, analysts say.”

Yeah, and look what we spent on it over the years, amazing….
"Ukraine probably needs closer to $200 billion, and it will be money well spent."
We’d get a lot of bang for our buck there in the long run..it’s not Afganistan.

That’s very astute, actually.
Precisely. Too often we focus on the point of conflict as opposed to what motivates those who wield the geo-political power.
