Pennsylvania Senate candidate Kathy Barnette says she "worked on Wall Street for many years." She's about 955 miles off.
Barnette, a conservative commentator, cited her experience on Wall Street in 2011 and 2020, and in an attack on Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign. "I worked 4 years on Wall Street. Would u invest money w/ someone who was filing bankruptcy?" she wrote of Trump's finances in 2016.
But Barnette's official résumé suggests she worked far from the domain of "bulls, bears, [and] people from Connecticut." She has held three jobs in the financial services industry, according to a now-deleted LinkedIn profile. She was an associate analyst at the Missouri-based A.G. Edwards from 1997 to 1999, and a financial equity analyst at "Banc of America Capital Management," her résumé says. She described the latter as a "major Wall Street firm" but worked for the company in St. Louis.
A Washington Free Beacon geographic analysis found that Wall Street is in New York City, not St. Louis. There is a Wall Street in the midwestern town, but it is largely residential.
The inconsistency emerges as Barnette faces other questions about her background. Barnette, whose surge in polls has caught opposing GOP campaigns by surprise, gave contradictory answers about whether she voted for Trump in the 2016 primary. She claimed this week she did, but said in her 2020 book, "I didn’t vote for Trump in the primaries." Barnette opposed Trump during much of the 2016 campaign, saying his moral character was "questionable," but said she joined the "Trump train" by the general election. Barnette insisted this week she voted for Trump in 2016, but the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette reported she did not cast a ballot in Pennsylvania until 2018..

Can you read? What didn’t you understand about those two definitions?
She was also a rare and brave African-American for speaking out to other AAs against the BLM organization at the time of the riots. (For that good deed, of course, she got a deceptively edited attack ad made and released against her.)
LOL
After college she got a job on Wall Street. Right from that same dictionary source. Like I said Wall St vs Main St ok. Where you work Wall Street has a very special meaning & it isn’t working in an office in another city of a firm that has offices on Wall Street.
You really have a thing for this lady. That’s fine but don’t try and twist reality to support her. To say she worked on Wall Street would be trying to puff up her resume. It speaks poorly to her integrity. Just as pulling the black card to shame neighbors tells one what her true beliefs are.
They better hurry - primary is Tuesday.
Both AG Edwards & Sons and BOA Asset Mgmt are both widely and traditionally described as Wall Street firms, office location is irrelevant.
Ch 11 is a form of bankruptcy.
Wrong. I can keep posting these accepted definitions all day long. Stop digging your hole deeper.
“The phrase, “Wall Street,” is sometimes taken as generally representative of investment banks, securities traders, hedge funds, and portfolio managers. It refers to both the people and places that govern the world of finance.”

I understood that you don’t know the first thing about Wall Street and the meaning of saying you work there. I do. Sorry.
Is that you Hannity?
That’s what I was wondering. I used to sell insurance but before I did that I had to get a license. While I was getting the license I worked for a company called Bear Stearns, in CA. I never thought of claiming I worked on Wall Street. I was just at Sales helper. Filing clerk whatever they needed but I couldn’t sell anything because I didn’t have a license. When I worked for John Hancock I got a series 6 license also so that I could sell mutual funds. I did not get a series 7 (stocks) because I didn’t need it for working at John Hancock but I would’ve needed that if I worked for Bear Stearns as a broker. You have to get fingerprinted and background checked for these licenses. There are records if anyone cares to check.
From the résumé I read up above she only ever worked on “Wall Street” for two years which is not much time to be successful in anything. Even getting a license takes half of that time.
From what I know about that industry what they tell you is that if you last two years you will be successful. You don’t stay for two years and walk away if successful.
ROFLOL! You know the meaning and all those authoritative accepted definitions I posted are wrong. Just WOW!
I’m not going to argue with someone who wants to confuse the general case with specifics. It is inaccurate and disingenuous. I have explained it to you repeatedly but because it doesn’t allow you to defend the misstatements of this candidate it does not compute for you. You are like Bill Clinton trying to parse the meaning of “is” to get out of perjury.
Wall Street Vs Main Street
Financial sector vs general citizens
Working on Wall street, working physically or remotely at a major financial firm in lower Manhattan, not in a branch office.
You are using them incorrectly, as I have said, confusing the general & specific uses of the terms.
Quit embarrassing yourself, you are approaching China.
I think there is a high degree of probability that someone actually working on Wall Street...like a hedge fund manager buying 10,000 shares of TSLA... would say GTFO out with this nonsense. EXACTLY what did she do as she worked on Wall Street. Can ANYONE answer that question
“Lotta splitting hairs as to what working on Wall Street means”
Yeah, it’s splitting hairs.
But I’d sure like to know what lurks in her military records. A general election is a very bad time to discover something unsavory.
There’s a reason she did 10yrs vs 6 or 20. And she refuses to discuss it.
Heidi Cruz also did work for the Counsel on Foreign Relations CFR), regarding immigration if my memory serves me.
Hmmm. What would they say if Barnette served in the TURKISH military? Or, if she had made her tens of millions as a hedge fund manager and doing deals with China? The only thing that Oz and McCormick have is money. I like Bartos, but he is too far down.
I hope that Kathy can pull it out.
Ok Bill Clinton - Any new definitions for the meaning of “is”?
This is petty stupidity. She was saying she worked in financial services. Only a disingenuous liar would nitpick and claim she was implying she worked on Wall Street in NYC.
I am afraid she will be another Roy Moore or Christine O’Donnell.
