Former President Donald Trump scored another victory as a Republican kingmaker on Tuesday, after his pick in West Virginia’s GOP primary, Rep. Alex Mooney, beat Rep. David McKinley in the race for the state’s 2nd Congressional District seat. As always, the display of Trump’s continued grip on the party is concerning. But there’s a specific detail about the race that’s particularly grim: McKinley was punished for the sin of indulging in an anodyne act of bipartisanship.
According to Roll Call, McKinley’s support for last year's bipartisan infrastructure law — you know, the law that received support from both parties in Congress and is funding badly needed roads, bridges and broadband infrastructure — was a “focal point in the race.” And McKinley’s vote for it is what inspired Trump to lash out against him. “Even though representatives for Trump told him a vote for the bill would result in Trump endorsing his opponent, McKinley said he couldn’t pass up an opportunity to vote for it because it ‘is good for West Virginia,’” Roll Call reports. When President Joe Biden signed his infrastructure package, Trump endorsed Mooney that same day.

But when Democrats join Republicans, that's not bipartisan. That's traitorous, dontcha know!
“infrastructure law — you know, the law that received support from both parties in Congress”
What “both parties”?
“funding badly needed roads, bridges and broadband infrastructure”
How much of the “infrastructure” boondoggle law actually went to roads and bridges?
Exactly
Bipartisanship: where the Democrat pigs scoot aside a little to give favored Republicans time at the trough.
The Biden Boondoggle Bill was assisting the Democrats, something that Assistant Democrats get elected to do.
Nineteen GOP Senators voted for it, too.
Estimates are 9-10%.
The infrastructure bill passed with the help of these nineteen Assistant Democrats.

We will NEVER Make America Great Again by re-electing Assistant Democrats.
Trump has to stop endorsing them.
Don’t forget about the 13 House Republicans that supported the infrastructure bill allowing AOC and the Squad to vote against it for street cred.
Zeeshan Aleem.
Are there any real Americans on MSNBC?
I used to love how Rush skewered “bipartisanship”. In other words doing what the left wants you to do.
A “bipartisan” bill does not mean it is a good bill!
Many of them he endorsed before thet voted for the infrastructure bill.
“Bipartisan” means that Deep State bribery and intimidation worked!
“Bipartisan” means that Deep State bribery and intimidation worked!
Just wondering. Does anyone know if anybody is doing anything during election day to stop the DEMONocRAT fraud? I mean if Trump-endorsed GOP candidates are winning it looks like somebody’s minding the store.
Any input?
I also wonder how long it takes to repair roads and bridges. Being retired U.S. Navy, I was stationed on several ships out of Norfolk. Also, being from Maryland, and having lived in Maryland and Virginia (now living in Virginia), I have travelled numerous times on Interstates 64 and 95. Back in the 80’s, I used to drive from Norfolk to Maryland, coming up 95 a lot. Back then - starting in 83 - there was construction on I95 - from outside the Richmond beltway up to and above Fredericksburg. They are still doing construction on that stretch of road. I believe a person could start at the lowest rung in road construction back in the 80’s and retire as a white had 30-40 years later.
Well its the dream of all politicians particularly professional politicians to ride through the streets of their state\district flinging money at the peasantry like a feudal lord! So its natural that dream would overcome good sense!
“On the party is concerning”
Assumes facts not in evidence
How many actual democrats went against the bill?
So take your pick, elect a middle of the road republican who have supported many of Trump’s bills during his admin, or go for pure conservatives who will lose in general to a democrat. No democrat is ever voted for anything Trump wanted, zero, zip, nada.
Here is a list of pure conservatives (not assistant democrats as people with low IQ call their republican opponents). They all won the primaries because of low IQ republican voters, but lost in general to real democrats.
In other words, those low IQ republican voters helped congress become more liberal.
Roy Moore
Todd Akin
Ken Cuccinelli
Richard Mourdock
Christine O’Donnell
George Allen
Joe Miller
Ken Buck
Alan West
Barry Goldwater
Doug Hoffman
