In the final weeks of the Senate campaign, Kathy Barnette has taken to campaigning with the phrase, “I am you, Pennsylvania.” But as her candidacy ascends in recent polls, we have to ask ourselves: what do we really know about Kathy Barnette?
Renowned Pennsylvania reporter, Saleno Zito, couldn’t even get basic information out of Barnette and her campaign this week. Barnette’s campaign refused to supply information on when she was accepted into military Officer Candidate School, or when she moved here from Virginia (which she claimed was her residency in a book published in 2020). She refuses to release her DD214 from her time in the Army Reserves.
As a combat veteran, I can say those of us who served may be hesitant to describe the details of our experience, but we are universally proud of our service and willing to answer basic questions about it. She has released her NGB 22 form pertaining to her National Guard service, and I am grateful for that. But she still has not released her DD214 which, up until yesterday, we were led to believe did not exist. She told Chris Stigall on his radio show that she does in fact have a DD214. Why does she refuse to release that, seeming to lead voters away from it? I routinely sent my DD214 to reporters when I ran for Congress and Senate. It is among the most basic documents veteran candidates are asked to produce, but she won’t.
The bio in Ms. Barnette’s book says that she lived in Virginia, which she now says she never did, and that it was a mistake by her publisher.

PA GOP loves to put up Romney type candidates....and I’m not sold on Kathy Barnette at all. Outside of Lou Barletta for Gov. I’m not excited about any of them.

Well, I think most folks, Republican/Conservative and average America in general don’t give half a hoot if a person is homosexual, bisexual, trans-whatever as long as it makes no requirements on them to accept, approve or much less, celebrate.
Y’know, live and let live as long as you don’t try to make your private business my business.
I don’t have a problem with people expressing dislike or disapproval of this or that. It shouldn’t be done in anger or hate, though (unless it affected them personally & are understandably temporarily really POed - that’s only human).
It would be fascinating to see these folks’ posts on Islam, right here on FR. My guess, worse than Barnette tweeted.
A number of homosexuals I’ve known are in your face about it, and if you don’t approve you are persona non grata. A number of them are constantly dragging bakers, florists, photographers, etc into court. I think it’s a myth that they are a tolerant, live and let live movement.

My goodness, yes. There are some doozys. It’s not something I would lose much sleep over, anyway. I remember when the media - before they loved him - made Mr. Rhino Mitt out to be Hitler in 2008 because he allegedly gave a guy a haircut as a teen.
Besides, on this, apparently not even the Great Censors Of Twitter thought it was/or still think it was anything.

Harruph! Not good enough!! Her service record pales in comparison to The Doctor Of Oz’s valiant, glorious days in service to America while in it’s armed forces.
All good points. The response video was a bad idea, though she was a good candidate - but in the wrong state for non-Dems to compete.
