NEW ORLEANS - The Louisiana Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Tony Spell, the Central Pastor who continued to hold church services in defiance of restrictions Gov. John Bel Edwards imposed to stop the spread of COVID.

Overruling lower courts, the justices ruled that the restrictions on gatherings and the stay-at-home mandate Edwards imposed were unconstitutional. They ordered the charges against Spell quashed.

Justices John Weimer and Scott Chrichton dissented on the ruling.

Does any state have “essential business” or “non-essential business” defined in law to be used for pandemics or anything else (zombie attacks, etc.)?

If not, then their use is illegal.

So when do the impeachment proceedings begin for the POS governor?

What state government officials and LEO’s are going to prison for deprivation of citizens rights under the color of authority?

Or is “I was just following orders” an acceptable defense now?

That’s the only way this crap doesn’t happen again.

Nothing?

Yep, that’s what I thought.

100% correct.

Even if you suppose that greater contact occurs in church as opposed to walmart, church still has 1st amendment specific protection while walmart does not. God doesn’t requite assembling at walmart.

Yes they did. Freedom of religion is an enumerated right.

Took too long for justice.
