If you wondered why liberals can be shown demonstrable, provable facts and not change their minds, wonder no more: They are not listening. It is not simply a case of them listening and holding on to their opinions; they are, in fact, just not listening to you.
I was watching Charlie Kirk on a very recent Young Americans for Freedom video on YouTube. During the Q&A, a very confident 20-ish student asked why blacks are imprisoned at higher rates than whites. She insisted it was due to "white privilege" and "institutional racism." Kirk presented facts and actual verifiable statistics and gave her at least two reasons for the imbalanced imprisonment rate, neither of which had anything to do with racism: Blacks commit more crimes than whites according to FBI statistics, and blacks come from fatherless homes. "We subsidize single motherhood in this country" said Kirk, who gave her more stats, more info. When she was proved wrong, she got arrogant, resorting to insults. She was not listening.
At no time did she appear thoughtful. She knew she'd been outclassed so she finished up by saying, "I can see I'm getting nowhere with y'all and y'all are not answering my questions" and she turned her back and flounced off. After Kirk gave her at least two legitimate and reasoned answers to her questions, she still said he didn't. She behaved as though he had not spoken and wasn't even in the room.
Liberals have invested their entire personas in their liberalism. If that is proved to be wrongheaded, their lives come apart, or so they believe. What is striking is that talking to a liberal has become utterly useless. When you present them with reasonable information and validated facts, they not only do not believe you, they are not listening.

These people aren’t liberals, and they haven’t been since the 1960s. But thanks to Conservative Inc, and people like M.B. Mathews, here we are wasting out time as anarchist, nihilists and communists tear down America.

Liberals don’t possess the critical thinking and reasoning abilities needed to process and understand information. They act not on logic but emotions, and only two at that: rage and panic.
I believe this would technically be considered “narcisissm” but I’m not a psychology expert. As far as I know, an important component is “I can never be wrong; you can never be right”.
I feel that the field of psychology has been overtaken by weirdos who promote various forms of dysfunction (often sexual) which is a shame because a serious study of real human psychology would be really beneficial. We seem to have created a generation which is overloaded with narcissists. How did we manage to do that? And did some Saul Alinksy-like character behind the scenes do it on purpose? (”Hey, if we give everyone a trophy, and constantly boost everyone’s self-esteem for no reason at all, in 20 years we’ll have a dysfunction generation of narcissists and the country will fall apart. It will be great!”)

If the shooting civil war starts, I have an old hippy beeotch who I’m going to walk over to her house and shoot her between her eyes with my .300 Blackout because she sounds like the mother or grandmother of the gal who wouldn’t listen to Charlie Kirk, too hate filled to hear anything.
This gal spoils containers of milk by looking at them on the grocers shelves she’s so hateful and mean, not to mention stupid as a rock. President Trump has a vacation home here on the Pacific coast in her head.
It’s hard for a person to admit that their lifelong opinions were based on a stack of lies and half truths so one chat session with one person isn’t enough to overturn their sacred beliefs.
Works like that with all sides. It’s a human thing.
That’s the approach I take to news and liberals. Just don’t listen. In one ear out the other, presumed lie.
Where it’s possible, I summarily block them from my orbit. No warning, no comment, no notice. One “lefty” comment, and poof, out of orbit.
