Biden predicts that if Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, same-sex marriage will be next

CNN)President Joe Biden predicted Wednesday that if the Supreme Court officially overturns Roe v. Wade's holding of a federal constitutional right to abortion, the court will next look to strike down other landmark cases guaranteeing Americans' rights, from same-sex marriage to contraception access.

"It's not just the brutality of taking away a woman's right to her body ... but it also, if you read the opinion ... basically says there's no such thing as the right to privacy. If that holds ... mark my words: They are going to go after the Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage," said Biden, speaking at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Chicago, according to pool reports.

I would be fine with gay marriage being overturned. But they won’t.

A good compromise might be to toss marriage definition back to the states but I don’t see that happening.

Gay marriage was never illegal. But to have it federally mandated is unconstitutional.

Murder is a crime. Marriage is a contract.

I’m fine with states formulating their own laws without the federal govt having to be involved…. In any issue.

Are there any lawsuits over homosexual marriage pending anywhere?

Well, if there are any, and they get to the Supreme Court, and the Supreme Court overturned the 2015 decision mandating homosexual marriage, then the marriage issue would go back to the states.

And that outcome apparently is the end of the world as we know it, to these activists.

An apparent pattern we see here, with fears that the courts would do this and that, is that these activists prefer that judges in Washington, DC, decide everything. They don’t seem to want the legislative process to deal with anything.

Abortion and gay marriage don't even belong in the same sentence.

It's kinda funny how gay activities never lead to pregnancies.

At the Federal level we have this thing called the “bill of rights”.
Those are our rights under our system.
They don’t mention. marriage, abortion, and a whole bunch of dreamed up “General welfare rights”.
I had to pay for a license to get married
that was legally recognized by a state.
That was not a “right”.
States determine laws.
Called the 10th Amendment.
SCOTUS has no business telling us how to live.

I simply shrug, chuckle and say “yeah, right” at any gay “marriage” anyway.

And, yeah, I know, that makes me a hate-filled right-wing radical Nazi racist homophobic satanic misogynistic intolerant deplorable reprobate.

And I’m really okay with that, knowing those who’ve branded me.

Oh, and I also voted for Trump.

Twice.

“I would be fine with gay marriage being overturned. But they won’t.”

Ditto. Obergefell *should* be overturned, but I think scrapping it would be a bridge too far for a couple of these justices ... assuming that there were even a case in controversy. Is there? At this point, that would take a state, let’s say Alabama or Mississippi, to actually deny same-sex registrants a marriage license and be willing to litigate the issue if the same-sex applicants sue. If this is happening anywhere, I’ve missed it.
