NATO Moves Into Finland as Russia Threatens Response
Newsmax ^ | Wednesday May 11, 2022 | Eric Mack

Reports are surfacing of military equipment of the United States and other NATO countries on the Russia-Finland border. U.S. and NATO armored vehicles were spotted on the border, along with Finnish tanks and armored personnel vehicles, according to a translation of a Shraibikus News report. There have been reports of military exercises in Finland, but Russian intelligence reportedly suspects the military buildup will remain until Finland joins NATO. The report also indicates Finnish authorities are anticipating Finland joining NATO within a few months. Russian analysts consider the military presence on the Russia-Finland border to be a threat, particularly as NATO allies are supplying lethal aid to Ukraine amid the Russian invasion. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told RIANovosti that Russia is watching the situation and will consider a potential response. "It is clear that from the point of view of security we will not remain indifferent," Grushko said. "Our military will consider all the necessary measures that may be required to ensure the legitimate interests of defense." While the forces conducting the exercises are likely doing so to defend Finland against an invasion by Russia, Grushko added it represents a dangerous escalation that makes neither Finland nor NATO more safe. "This will not strengthen the security of either Finland or NATO itself," Grushko told RIA Novosti.

“Yeah, because NATO is known to aggressively invade neighboring countries all the time.”

Well, we do have 750 military bases across 80 nations.

Non sequitur!

Might actually be used to argue the opposite: That NATO is peaceful!

Peace through strength!

That’s about right. The only thing I’ve ever sewen nato do is bomb innocent people, usually for the benefit ofnarco-terrorists, nazis, or other stripes of barbarians. Sweden and Finland would have to be totally out of thir minds to want any part of that shit now.

FreshPrince’s point is that a ruble backed by gold but that’s not redeemable for gold is in fact not backed by gold.

I agree.

So, you wouldn’t mind Russia having nukes in Cuba and all throughout bordering area of the US, because, according to you, peach through strength.

You don’t surround a nation with armies and ukes and then tell them you are friendly.

Jon, please give this more thought.

Nothing that Putin said to justify going into the Ukraine
was true.

When he entered Russia, he didn’t address a single one of
them. He didn’t fix anything.

Those things didn’t concern him. He had other reasons.

Russia has captured British POWs [...]

I asked how many NATO troops are on the ground in Ukraine - and you mention some poor Limeys who volunteered.

[...] and our State Dept has taken credit for killing Russian generals and sinking ships.

Taken credit for supplying intel that led to the killing...

That enough for start?

A pretty pitiful start. But if it's only a start: Do, by all means, go on!

Any timeline on when we’ll quit worrying about Russia’s criminals and get a handle on our own? I don’t see where We the People win if the 82nd Airborne jumps into Russia and claps Putin in irons. Let the Europeans and Russians jail Putin and let’s hold our representatives’ feet to the fire over ours. We can start with Brandon since he bragged over meddling in Ukraine’s internal affairs to get their AG off his son’s back.

So what if we did? Russia has a long well documented history of helping to kill our troops. Russian designed EFPs made in Iran and sent to Iraq is just one example.

Payback, as they say, can be a real bitch.

Putin can stop all of this in 24 hours. Just announce a full withdrawal of all his troops. He can pay the bill for the damages on his way out.

Ten years or so of oil, gas, and mineral revenue ought to about cover it.

The ruble is no longer freely convertible. It's back to being a Third-World currency.

Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face asked to pay for Газпром Erdgas and Роснефть heavy Urals crude in rubles...

Natgas and öl are whatever Газпром and Роснефть say they are at the cashier's window.

Problem with that?

Kein Erdgas oder Rohöl fur Sie!

Jon, just admit you have nothing.

You claimed that, “our State Dept has taken credit for killing Russian generals and sinking ships.” and there is bupkus to back that up.

You were wrong. Be a man and accept it and I’ll at least respect you for that much.

Well our troops have been home for almost six months now. Time to spend another twenty years fighting the Russians for the European socialists.

Well, we border Russia and have nukes.

Granted nuking Siberia isn’t a major concern.

The “Nukes on the border!” is a cop out. Russia will not tolerate any power in their sphere of influence. Trouble is that is the northern hemisphere.

You tell me when Russia does that, and then we can talk.

At the moment, that's nothing more than a hypothetical scenario meant to divert and distract.

And besides, the argument is specious because the scenarios are not comparable: There are no NATO nuclear weapons stationed in ANY of the countries bordering Russia!

I’ve been trying to get the border focused upon since the
80s.

Trump is the only guy who listened.

Pat did, but the RP took care of that.

We are sending way to much stuff and money to Poland.

We have homeless on our streets, and a border wide open.

Can’t afford $8 million to fix the wall, but we can sent
$40 billion to the Ukraine.

Nuts!
