On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “MTP Daily,” Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) said that “we are absolutely experiencing some of the other bad side effects” of policies Democrats passed that “allowed our economy to be able to survive.”
Houlahan said, “Democrats in this Congress have, for the last several years, been able to stop what could have been a catastrophe, what could have been a depression the likes of which we haven’t seen in a long time. We didn’t experience that. And as a result of the American Rescue Plan and the infrastructure act and the CARES Act and a number of other things, we’ve been able to layer on the help that has allowed our economy to be able to survive. And now we are absolutely experiencing some of the other bad side effects of that help that we’ve provided. But we do very much need to recognize we are in a place where we now, in my community, in Chester County…have 3.2% unemployment, a really good economy, and we certainly need to address the fact that gas prices are a problem and grocery store prices are a problem. But we also need to recognize that we are still here standing two years after a literal pandemic.”

I have no idea what she’s talking about. Is she from the same America as myself?
Some of the covid policies were good and needed and some were bad, and some were poorly implemented. All of them could have been more targeted and thus less expensive. And some like the latest bill were probably completely unncessary.
The amount of fraud that occurred was just bad. How the government could implement programs that large and not have audit involvement and put some basic checks and balances in place is beyond me.
There are a lot of things leading to inflation. Oil prices, supply shocks, people not returning to work, creating a labor shortage, the perception of inflation leads to inflation, and the money that was pumped into the system to combat covid all have a role.
And in other news, Rep. Houlahan will be having outpatient surgery tomorrow to remove her foot from her mouth.
At the same time doctors will attempt to remove her head from the rectum ........

Yeah, they had to destroy the village to save the village. What a load of horse excrement. For tens of millions of us on fixed retirement income, their damned policies have destroyed DECADES of retirement financial planning. How do you plan for feckless and irresponsible Democrats destroying the economy and triggering massive inflation and economic stagnation?
The nation would have done fine if they hadn’t spent a dime. It recovered from the Spanish Flu 1918-1922 just fine without Fedzilla destroying the economy.
