Murkowski to Schumer: I'll pass on your radical abortion bill, thanks (she must be up for reelection!)

When you’ve lost Lisa Murkowski on abortion rights …

To be fair, though, Chuck Schumer all but guaranteed that outcome. In fact, he went out of his way to get it, as we’ll see:

Why would Murkowski object to a “Roe codification bill”? Murkowski and Susan Collins both have consistently supported not just the Supreme Court decision in Roe but also the one in Casey. The answer to this, of course, is that Schumer’s bill doesn’t “codify Roe,” but instead expands abortion access to the limit of gestation, right up to the moment of birth. It also would force providers to perform abortions regardless of religious or moral objections. And it would preclude states from regulating abortion in any way, shape, or form, regardless of what the voters in those states want.

If Schumer really wanted to only “codify Roe,” then he would have adopted a bill authored by Murkowski and Collins:

If she were safely reelected, she'd be voting "AYE" in a second!

And we all know it. And she knows that we all know it.

A law repugnant to the Constitution is void. That was decided by the Second SCOTUS.

The Federal government has no authority in this. The power is reserved to the states by the Tenth Amendment.

Because they game the votes! If we don’t learn to use their gaming tactics we will lose this country. As simple as that!

Exactly!!! The didn’t actually read the draft opinion, which says “power to the people”. That means the people decide, which means the States. They need to make an Amendment if they want it Federal.

The federal government has the power to raise armies and can outlaw the abortion of likely future soldiers.

The federal government can bar Social Security payouts to baby murderers.

That ‘free’ abortion provided by an ‘insurance’ company could be very costly.

Murky voted for the Biden SCOTUS pick who couldn't define what a woman is.

She did that because she is so far underwater in Alaska that nothing can save her. She will wag the dog and blame her loss on the "racist" republicans who voted against her because of her SCOTUS vote. She will be rewarded with a seat at the table as the "republican" in the Sunday morning talk shows.

Only problem for Murky is there is competition from Lizard Cheney, who is auditioning for the same gig.

Mitch had a lot to do with her first election. The GOP was instrumental in her winning as freakin write in candidate. The Republican was a good guy and Mitch and the boys sabotaged their own candidate.

The Left always overreaches. Hubris.

They could easily get something similar to the original Roe past; a majority of Americans are not going to support abortion after the first trimester, however.

This effectively kills it. Delecto will not get any help from Collins - who has already said she will not vote to kill the filibuster (Chuckie needs that to pull this off) and Manchin and Sinema are Nos so this is just fundraiser letter garbage for the rats to squeeze money out of rich America haters - nothing more.

Well, to be real, she's never supported bills this extreme on abortion before, so that's probably not a fair statement...even for Murkowski.

There is absolutely no truth to that statement. The NRSC was pretty much Joe Miller’s entire campaign in the general election.
