What a coinky-dinky, eh? ;^)
Here's my question...wouldn't the water also have to go into another holding tank and then be trucked to a factory or processing facility to extract the lithium? Or, would there be a way to extract the lithium at the well?
Please correct me if I am wrong.
The Alamo canal (off the Colorado River) burst just west of Yuma and flooded all the way to the Salton Sink which became the Salton Sea.
YUP; everything from hard rock to dredging, mining in California is deader than a road kill skunk!
Did you post to the right article/person...?
Liberal pretzel logic.
Old promotional short about Salton City:

Then and Now:

And then it died. Not a sudden death, but slowly as the ‘sea’ became more and more toxic. The fish disappeared, the water began to smell, and what houses that were built were left to decay.
If you fly into San Diego, you’ll likely fly over it. Odd colored lake. “Interesting” people live there now.
The last time I was in palm springs I made a point to drive around the salton sea.
I stopped at Jesus Land and slab city
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=slab+city&hps=1&atb=v263-1&iax=images&ia=images
got stopped a border checkpoint like 50 miles from mexico, very strange and possibly illegal ?
looked for some tungsten and other heavy metal
I wanted to sail it, and I figured that there would be some kind of boat rental, but there are none.
if anyone is in palm desert it is all well worth checking out depending on the time of year.
Some say it smells really bad depending on the time of the year, but when I was there I did not notice anything.
One of the comments I saw below the videos was that things were dying and the air had begun to smell badly even as promotions were still going on.
I don’t know why people didn’t realize that the ‘sea’ could easily ‘disappear’ just as naturally as it had ‘appeared’.
It’s a two-fer:
Just put lithium into the water supply and
1) protests against lithium mining will go away
2) Hollywood will shut down, since all the actors will be cured of their mental disorders
On the downside, Hollywood suicides will be down, as will Lake Meade, as urination will be up. But, heh, might be worth the trade.
I wondered about that, but didn’t have time at lunch to check what the mineral content was. I do remember going over there 20 or so years ago, and buying some water. They had deep well and shallow well available. They warned that you needed to be careful with the shallow well water because it would have a laxative effect in quantity.
Same in Lithia Springs in Ashland Oregon. Extracting lithium for ocean water has been tested for decades but never feasible. Maybe the Salton Sea has enough to make it worth while but doubtful. Besides. The environazis will never let cheap clean harvesting of anything on American soil or water. There is an endangered speckled newt that ONLY lives right there.
Slab City... probably would still work if it got a new name, maybe Granite Gravestone. ;^) Nice pics!
Interesting a-bomb connection.
