I worked at a factory in Chicago 40 years ago - the Ukrainian guys told me they were in the German Army until 1944 when they changed into Russian uniforms.
In 1941 the Ukrainians cheered the German Troops when they drove the Russians out.

Someone please, what is the rest of the story there? Who’s freedom is/was threatened that we have to become involved? Didn’t it start when the Russian speaking part rebelled over being forced to be Ukrainian, in what was their land before being turned over to Ukraine? Its not worth one American life to get involved. Its a mini civil war being turned into an international fiasco.

Well, that’s true but the Ukrainians quickly learned to regret it after Goering was put in charge of the region. Georing, in a historic blunder, ignored a chance to gain Ukraine as an ally, and instead forced the Ukrainians into slave labor.
