Local and international groups are rushing to get post-rape kits, emergency contraception, and abortion pills to Ukrainians amid growing evidence that Russian soldiers have used sexual violence as a weapon of war.
Ukraine says it's received more than 400 reports of sexual violence, including rape, in two weeks.
Existing data is unlikely to "convey an accurate picture" of the true magnitude of sexual violence in the country because rape so often goes unreported, even in times of peace, Jaime Nadal Roig, the UNFPA's representative to Ukraine, told Insider.

What a pantload. I don’t believe the “mass rapes” accusations even a little. Smells like BS. Like 99% of the crap we read.
Many years ago I read a WW2 book A Woman In Berlin, about a young German woman’s experience there. Russian rape was very common, as was theft of toilets. Two of my grandmother’s sisters lived in Berlin. They were maiden ladies in their seventies. One was a dentist, the other a gynecholist who knew just how badly women were being treated. The also knew how intellectuals (educated people) were being treated. They both committed suicide soon after the Russians arrived. Nuns were being raped.
Some of the units of young raw recruits might not do much of this, but with Chechens and other types of forces, it could be part of approved Russian terror strategy. It might be reason for some incidents of Russian soldier revolt and killing of officers, although lousy general conditions can be a sufficient motive. Of course after a few weeks of watching fellow soldiers die in agony, any soft heartedness is likely to harden.
In the midst of war it takes a while to set up statistical measuring units. Also, at first there may not have been all that many, but with these Chechen and other hardened troops being brought in it may be getting bad fast. Also raw troops have had time to become hardened and bitter in 10 to 12 weeks.
I understand. My father was in WWII and spoke of prisoners of war not wanting to be taken by the Russians. He said they would kill POW’A rather than be encumbered.
The Russian military is cruel. There cruelty in Ukraine is being well-documented.
You should believe the re: the victims of Russian rapes which is being documented by victims.
