The Pope’s reasoning is similar to Putin’s and his supporter’s reasoning and it goes like this — Russia is provoked by the continued expansion of NATO and feels threatened by more European countries joining the Alliance. Ukraine was the last straw, so Putin had no choice but to invade. We have to articulate the reasoning before we can actually analyze the reason.

a) Test their newly developed weapons in a real battle scenario using the Ukrainians as proxy.
b) Use the successful use of these weapons to SELL THEM around the world and thus, profit from war.
Whatever gets him to stop talking about global warming and the evils of national sovereignty.

Supporters of CRT are provoked by the continued expansion Western Culture and the attendant racist constructs and feel threatened by more people supporting Western Culture. George Floyd was the last straw, so CRT supporters had no choice but to riot and loot.
If people support Russia's invasion of Ukraine using that raining, by extension they must support the 2020 riots and vandalism.

We were using Ukraine to poke the bear under the Bush and Obama administrations too. I think the inauguration of a weak administration that pushed the same anti-Russian politics in Ukraine was just the last straw for them.
