LOUISVILLE, Ky. – There’s really nothing normal about this, not at all.
Stuff 20 3-year-old horses into a metal contraption. Surround them with about 150,000 cheering fans, many lunatics fortified for the previous eight hours with alcoholic beverages. Have them run 1 1/4 miles with tiny, brave humans on their backs. Make them turn left a couple of times. See which one emerges first. Then throw roses on that horse’s back.

Baffert gets his revenge...Messier wins it at 8-1....
Look out for the great grandson of Sunday Silence from Japan.
Crown Pride.
It’s all about the hats...
With horse racing in such a decline for so many years, I'm surprised this race still draws so many.
I think Kari Lake said she’d be there with the Trumps for the race.
Have you been watching the training regimen of Crown Pride since he got to Churchill? Weird stuff. If he wins, his connections will have done it in a totally unique way for the Derby.
I went to the Derby once. Most people I saw were there for the party. Partying is still extremely popular.
Time to watch to watch the greatest race ever run again, Secretariat’s Belmont Triple Crown run. It never gets old.
Just a great post to start my Saturday.
It was thoughtful of you to make it available. Thanks.
Good idea. Everybody, search “Secretariat, Belmont.” Have a glance at something perfect.
Belmont, the longest race of the Triple Crown, and Secretariat ran each quarter FASTER than the previous one. THAT IS MIND BLOWING.
And if lucky it will hit 60 today as a high temperature with all clouds—if there is wind that will feel miserable.
LOL the next 7 days forecast to be beautiful with sunny skies and highs mostly in the 70s-80s.
Guess the old man up high doesn’t like betting.
Love horse-racing.
But I know nothing of it now.
Since they all chastised and shamed us for BLM, I haven’t watched. Last thing I really watched was Belmont ‘20.
I would love to peek at the stakes. Horses are innocent. But hard to do it without giving ratings to networks and status totracks and jockeys who bend the knee and wear “BLM” down their pants.
Never mind Johnny Wierd.
No. That was the Derby.
You are right, in the Belomont he ran the 2nd quater faster than the first.
Yes , she did say that .
My long shot, Smile Happy, has been getting a little hot while training in the morning the last two weeks. Maybe “the old man” has money on Smile Happy.
Have you seen this guy’s YouTube channel? If you’re betting this year’s Derby it’s a great tool. Every starting horses entire racing history compactly and conveniently put at your fingertips. Pretty neat.
I typically only bet a few bucks on the nose for a few long shots just to make watching more interesting. Would never bet serious money on the chalk horses.
