Pelosi: Roe v. Wade Ruling ‘Not an Extreme Position’ — It Was a ‘Compromise’
Breitbart ^ | 05/06/2022 | Pam Key

1:19 House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Friday on MSNBC’s “Deadline ” that the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade ruling was not “extreme” because it was a compromise.

Pelosi said, “Roe v. Wade was not an extreme position. Roe v Wade was a compromise. It weighs equities in terms of timing and all the rest. We have to make sure we keep the focus on enshrining Roe v. Wade in the law so that there cannot be undue burdens placed on it in different states in the union to overturn a woman’s right to choose. Now when you hear the debate now, the Republicans are saying, ‘Oh, they want this. They want that.’ No, we want this calibrated position that was declared by the Supreme Court really upheld by Casey, and 14 times there had been legal decisions addressing the precedent and the privacy that is contained in Roe v. Wade.”

to overturn a woman’s right to choose.
***Then she acknowledges the balance against the baby’s right to life itself. I do not think SCOTUS found a right to choose in the constitution, which is why it is being sent back to the states.

There was no law to start with!

That's why Dems (Schumer) are in such a rush now to push
a bill through Congress.

Senate to Vote to Take Up Bill Codifying Abortion Rights Next Week
May 5, 2022 | Clip Of Senate Session

What has been codified regarding abortion that will have to be scrapped?

Can you say under "color of law"?

Federal funding/grants?
Health Care Funding: Planned Parenthood Federation of America Affiliates' Expenditures of Federal Funds, 2016 through 2018

From 2016-18, the 39 affiliates spent over $270 million in federal funds. The Department of Health and Human Services funded most of these expenditures—about $256 million (or 94% of total federal funding). The remaining funds were from the Departments of Agriculture, Justice, Housing and Urban Development, Education, and State, and the Corporation for National and Community Service. $270 million in 3 years. $90 million a year...killing babies.

It weighs equities in terms of timing and all the rest.

that part of it dropped out of my copy & paste... Note how she just blithely skips over a baby’s right to exist as “timing and all the rest.” It’s due to her disgusting political calculus that dead babies can’t vote.

"White House Warns of Fall, Winter Surge Without Additional [Unconstitutional, Unaccountable] Covid-19 Funding"

There! Fixed it.

It wouldn't be surprising if some unconstitutional, unaccountable federal CV19 funding wound up in the election campaigns of some desperate career Democrats.

Compromise ??

Miss Lug Wrench confuses the Judiciary with the Legislature.
And she stands in line for the WH after K. Harris.

Last I heard, Dems control the House, the Senate, the Presidency, and Nancy Pelosi is Speaker of the House. If she wants to “enshrine” Roe v Wade (by which she actually means the right to abortion on demand), she could always go wild and consider LEGISLATION. The proper avenue is a Constitutional Amendment. Oops — that would expose the reality that the Dems don’t have the votes.

“...she could always go wild and consider LEGISLATION.”

So far, no one has explained to me where Congress gets the power in Article 1, Section 8 to write any legislation regarding abortion. As you say, the proper avenue would be via a Constitutional Amendment.

Technically LAW was created arbitrarily by the courts not by the legislature as is requisite.

“Roe v Wade was a compromise.”

It was a compromise of Legislative Process. It was a comprise of Judicial Review. It was a compromise of States’ Rights.

It was not a compromise of a preborn’s natural right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness: It was an outright abrogation.

Pelosi said, “Roe v. Wade was not an extreme position.

Of course it wasn't. Her ideal position would be MANDATORY abortion.

I know Pelosi wanted Marjorie Taylor Greene to be taken off the ballot...

BUT THE JUDGE SAID SHE IS TO REMAIN ON THE BALLOT.

I hope that spoils Nasty’s day just a little bit.

A compromise between (1) Ignore the Constitution and (2) Just make stuff up and pretend it is in the constitution.

Halfway in between is Roe v. Wade.
